Got a local trade offer for a fryette deliverance 60? Anyone have experience with these? I only play heavy so the single channel doesn't bother me, but I use a delay so the lack of effects loop does.

Cheers

Get it, especially if its less than $850

Very Brutal amp, you dont need fx loop. If you must have the pedal just run it in front and roll down the guitar volume? Maybe some kind of A/B set up. I dont know but i do know its a very Brutal amp, I want one bad..

Loud, nasty, aggressive, tight.

More punch than a lot of 100 watters.
The dual gain controls and Hi/Low make it surprisingly versatile for a single channel amp.

Awesome amp. I just sold mine, but I only sold it because I have an UltraLead. If I didn't have the UL, the D60 wouldn't have gone anywhere. Be warned, though - try before you buy. The Fryette tight/dryness is an acquired taste and a lot of people don't like it. It's going to be just about the complete opposite of your Roadster. Expect to need to re-learn things in order to have them not sound like shit - the Deliverance is a super responsive amp, and any slop that the Mesa covered will be ridiculously apparent when you're playing through the D60.

I have a deliverance 60 2x12 combo. I love it very versatile amp. I run mine Semi dirty less switch engaged. I use an HBE Paradrive to drive it into Judas Priest Savatage style tone. This allows me to have an almost 2 channel amp. I do not have any problem running effects out front. I have A Phaser, BF-2, Corona , Flashback, Paradrive, Decimator G String, I need some rock clean so I set it up this way. If you want all out metal it sounds great with more switch engaged no pedals needed.

+1

VHT/Fryette amps are like this, sound superb imo. I love them and honestly dont think I could be convinced otherwise but if you mess up. It will be heard

Ok, you guys are affirming what I thought. I honestly kind of want to get a tighter amp to force myself to play better. I'm aware that I will have to play differently than I do with the Mesa, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The guy wants to trade for my Mesa. I was thinking the fryette plus some cash for the Mesa, as the fryettes are 1600 and the roadster 2200 new.

As said, the D60 goes used for about 50% retail price. Mesa, near the same, maybe 60%.
The VHT is a tone machine. It is unforgiving, but I didn't find VHT that dry or unforgiving. Not as saturated as modern Mesa's for sure, but they do have a full range of usable gain that's for sure.

It's dry, brutal, tight, responsive, and unforgiving. I really like them. You can get great tones out of them. Personally I like the d120 more but the differences are really small

Jump on it, if you could get cash on top then no question,... Id use the, well its only the 60w to my advantage..:)

Although many say its a different amp (the d60 v d120) and some prefer the 60w over the 120w

sounds like a steal to me....

Keep in mind though, I have personally seen at least a few Deliverance amps go used on Guitar Center for $800, one even at $750..Right now however, there is only one and its at 1,200.

Id throw the average price in his face too, Average Roadster 1,500....Average Deliverance 1,000.

If you could get $500 on top, best deal ever!!! I would do a straight trade, but I have never played the Roadster ;)

Cool. I'm testing it out on wednesday so I'll make a decision then, but it sounds like I'll probably go for it.

Speakers are a big factor with VHT's. Be warned!
Some say only Eminence work best with them.
I'm in the minority by loving V30's with my VHT.
Test it at a good volume too. That's where the true colors of these amps come through. If you want to use it in the studio, be prepared for that fact!

You are indeed in the minority on that one D-rock! I enjoy the v30s with the deliverance, but i like the eminence patriots better with it. Also The amp has a HUGE response difference using a 16ohm cab vs a 8ohm cab. Theres always a response difference with amps and ohm loads on the cabs but the Deliverance really sticks out.

Yes very good debate ^^^....I had the P50's with my Pitbull and greatly prefered the 75xv30 combo..Never tried anything else but these guys are right. Huge difference between what speakers you are using.

When you are testing, Crank it up and dont be afraid of the mids :) have fun

Bah. That sucks. My cab has v30's.

It doesn't sound bad at all with the v30s. I just prefer the Eminence is all. You'll like it don't worry ;)

I use and prefer V30/H30/greenbacks with my D120 & Sig X.
For several years Fryette & THD are the only amps I use much.... & the THD stuff does not do high gain at all. I use these amps because they are very dynamic & react to your hands.

It is easy to get a huge range of sounds just using the volume control on the guitar & playing dynamics with my D120.

As stated above these amps do not hide slop playing at all....

Honestly, I like my VHT with both my Eminence and my V30's.
I just prefer the aggressive sizzle, punch and cut of the V30's. As I do with all my amps. If you like that as well, you'll be fine.

Okie doke. I'll just give er a go and see what I think. A little afraid to find out how sloppy my playing actually is...
