run through two settings with various swells/notes -to give some idea

Got it through a trade, always curious to try one out , updated straight to the latest firmware and had a play around for the last 2-3 hours

This thing is definitely inspiring, the amount of quality delay/ambient sounds you can get out of it is impressive, very versatile and all top notch quality, you can use it for a chorus tone as well, and get a reverb sort of sound, looper works well too,

to me it's strongpoint is also what can put a lot of people off, in that the sheer tweakability of the unit is huge, with two delays, tempo subdivisions , modulation/speed/depth and various tweaks per delay type etc.., in the sense you might spend more time programming it at first but i think the pay off is worth it

a friend has the pitchfactor that he uses on bass, that is absolutely amazing but even after 3-4months he's discovering new things programming the unit,

very pleased with it in any case, will have to move things around on the pedalboard to accommodate,

on the fence now if i'll sell the nova repeater now or not which is on the board, as it's basic but does work great

with regards to comparing it to other delays i've had/own (boss-strymon-tc electronic - mxr - akai to name a few), there's no contest in it's versatility (i haven't tried the timeline yet tho ;), so many great sounds in one box , i see why some people swear by em, quality wise it's hi-end but that all depends what sounds you're after, the TF definitely won't disappoint

hopefully the guitar arrives this week too =0 should be a good week

Glad you posted this as I'm trying to determine if I want this or the SPACE. I'm pretty much completely confused now.

I have both. Both are awesome and I haven't really gone much past scratching the surface of what these two pedals can do.

lol, good luck with that =)

i'll have to play about more for the really ambient reverb like sounding stuff, but it certainly isn't quite the same as a proper reverb pedal/effect, i have a Tc HOF reverb on the board that i could use for that huge spacey stuff, but the ambient patches on the TF sound even better at least to my ears

i think it depends what you're after, it can certainly cop ambient/spacey sounds, but the space can probably take that even further without maybe being able to do delay sounds

what kinda vibe are you looking for? real big washy/ambient reverbs or huge long delays?

i might have some time later so i can maybe record some experiments =)

I also got a timefactor recently that I'm dialing in for what I use. Very cool. I also highly recommend building the 3 switch extension box. I have the 3 external switches set to bank down, tap, and bypass.

Eventides are awesome... The 'Holy Trinity', the Pitch, Mod and Time Factor stomps. Now there's the 4th conglomerate, SPACE :D

They've got you MORE than covered, and there ough to be zero confusion - just buy all 4 :D

Well actually I set out to just have multiple delays that can be controlled via midi because it will probably be in my rack and controlled by my midi pedal. The issue is my band is doing some atmospheric stuff as well so I thought of the space. I've been just using a DD5 for delay so I'm incredibly limited and have pretty much just been setting it for lead stuff. I thought about leaving the DD5 and getting the space that way I could sorta work them off each other.
if you get a chance for some clips that would be sweet!

i might have some time later so i can maybe record some experiments =)

Damn Paul, that's really cool! Thanks..
Yeah I may just go that route, I really like what I'm hearing. Do you find it just as cool when using gain settings as far as clarity in the repeats?

ah thanks, yeah i think it does, i'll bust a short clip with lead stuff/gain using the very first basic tape echo sound,

here ya go

a bit of clipping which is from my soundcard/interface, that's the tape echo sound from before, you can of course make it brighter sounding if you want but i'm still experimenting i just got the thing lol

bank, tap and bypass? I have the E3D from T1M, I programmed mine for down, tap and repeat. You already have bypass as one of the 2 built-ins. Why have another bypass?

Man I like what I'm hearing, but clueless as to what direction to take!
I actually think the space would be better for me because its got some delays as well and got some really unique atmospheric sounds but damn, $500. At that price I can get the strymon which I really like the clips of, but it has no kill dry function so using in a parallel effects loop might suck for dirty tones!

does sound like a tough decision, if it's any consolation i don't think either will really let you down in terms of effects quality, the eventide will have more options and essentially tick all the boxes from what you're saying but at a price

keep an eye out used, it might pop up eventually, i try to buy everything that way anyway, especially pedals

I put it there because I was lazy and haven't had much time to tweak. I'll probably end up switching that one to either repeat or have it toggle a delay time or something. It is also a little about board efficiency - the Timefactor is towards the back, but the extension box is in the front - I don't have to reach over a bunch of stuff to bypass the effect.

So I just built a 3 switch extension and I have it doing bank down, Repeat and Tap (with the units in Bank mode, the tap switch on the Timefactor becomes bank up).

The extra switches take an already great line of pedals and make them even better.

I have all four of the Eventides (Time Mod Pitch and Space) mounted on a pedal train PT2 and a GigRig power supply underneath to power them all. I managed to fit 3 expression pedals on there too. I also have them all midi'd together so that changing patches on the Timefactor changes all four boxes. Those four pedals are all that is in my loop. (Pitch -> Mod -> Time -> Space)

Sadly, I'm gonna need the bigger pedaltrain (pro?) to fit the extra switches and extra expression pedal for the Space. In fact, the extra switches are so cool I think I will build another one or two for the Pitch and Mod Factor pedals...

that indeed sounds cool, even if it uses up a lot of space =)

post a pic if you can , sounds sick
