You guys are proud of ripping off another forum members hard work?

Are you saying this proudly and in jest because you do good work, or are you crying like a little girl about it?  I can't tell.

Did I miss something...where is this "crying like a little girl" that you mention? All I saw was a civil message making it known that ripping off somebody else's design isn't appreciated. I can easily understand that sentiment
in this situation.

As for the actual pre, it looks great and sounds great...nice playing as well.

Grow up with your comments there buddy and put yourself in my shoes.
Even though I am partially flattered...
People get paid for designs and nobody enjoys being blatantly ripped off as a reward for their work.
If you think I'm alone try and talk to any amp designer out there.

Is there any line in the sand between a clone made in tribute to the original versus blatant ripoff? If it's a one-time custom made thing does that constitute a ripoff versus a company who puts a clone into production?

And yes i do see how the above bothers you. I see clones of this and that, and i wonder gets gets a blessing and what doesn't.

Don't look now... but people have been doing the same thing to Marshall and Fender since the beginning of time, adding a little of their own seasoning and slapping their name on and selling it.

To me there is a difference, Those original designs were simple circuits offered by the tube manufactures themselves. They are also large companies not affected by clones which are usually based on offerings they no longer offer. Different than a boutique small builder who actually gets hurt when others dilute their concept and designs who also participate on the same forum. We are also dealing with a currently available and in stock product offered new for less than $1,700. Maybe I can understand a 1 time fun project for yourself but when they are being sold and so far I see 3 copies built by the same person, or at least 2 people with the same schematics and layouts with potential for more DYI then it is different story.

I can absolutely see where Suhr stands on this one guys, not only is it a tough time for any business right now, even more so the smaller ones I would imagine, but I mean this is someones hard work, time, attention and detail that went into making and designing a product. I can understand the irritation.

I don't think any amp builder would be happy if someone made an identical clone of their stuff. You see even boutique amp pedals (Klon) with black goop covering the circuit, and didn't Cameron do that to his amp mods as well?

And by the way weren't the original Marshall designs just knock offs from Fenders anyways?

I know for one if I spent all that time creating a product and someone was making clones I'd be like wtf man?
