So I've had this GT for quite a few years. Love the guitar, love the way it plays, never been honestly really happy with any pickups I've tried in it and there've been a lot. Holydivers, Painkillers, DiMarzios, Distortions, few different sets of EMGs. Didn't love any of them.

Bought a PRS McCarty awhile back and fell in love with the pickups....perfect blend of PAF type and brutal, they can literally do any type of music I want to play; blues, metal, rock, great split coil cleans, whatever.

Buddy on another forum knew I dug these and when he bought a McCarty and didn't really like the pickups, he kicked them to me for free. Finally got em installed and they fuckin rule. Finally. They're never coming out of this guitar, it's a perfect match. Deep, rich, thick, smooth. Neck tones are beautiful...was doing the first solo from Fade To Black and it sounded incredible. Just awesome.

Plus these pickups were from like '96 I think; they're beat up almost as bad as the GT. Good looking match...the shit on the sides isn't shadows, it's where the finish is gone.

I really can't see ever going back to high output stuff again....the Wolfgang in my Charvel is about as hot as I want to go.

SO relieved to find something that really works in this guitar.

 Rock on man! The thirst for tone has been quenched!.... for now...  Did you use these on your last recording? 'Cause that was killer!

Don't remember what I used, but these just showed up today in this guitar. I probably used my McCarty, which has the same pickups. Thanks for the compliment.....and that acoustic jam you did last time fuckin ruled. Meant to tell you the other day and got busy.

awesome pups! I much prefer low to mid output pups than high output. congrats on the pups, I know you dig the McCarty pups.

Good to hear about the pickups :)

That Les Paul though! Is it a standard GT with different hardware you put on? It looks like it has black binding, looks soo good! And how did you do the relic'd finish like this? Looks absolutely killer.

Sweet! It's awesome that you found a great guitar/pickup combo. Sometimes it can take a while, but once you find it, it's MAGIC.

Is that an ebony board? I had never heard of Les Paul GT before.

It's not a Gibson, guys. I wanted SS frets, an ebony board, black binding and BKPs, and there's nothing like that in the Gibson lineup. My buddy Daniel Short did this for me awhile back. IIRC, there are one or two other RT'ers that have one of his guitars as well. Solid builds from a good dude.

Which PRS model are those pickups?

Came out of a '96 McCarty, so McCarty pickups. Check em out, they're awesome.

Low output Pickups with High Gain amps is the right formula!
