So I got this guy a bit ago but also got a whole new bunch of new mic's as well so wanted to use ALL the new stuff here! LOL!

Anyway, this is my first vid NOT using the Torpedo Studio in years.

At it's core, this is a bass boost/od pedal and not really meant for guitar but since it's a sig pedal for Tony Dolan of Venom/Venom Inc I threw it on the guitars to get a gnarly type old school tone. It is NOT a modern style boost for guitars and gets splatty/fuzzy for sure

Used all 3 of my Guerilla Customs which have Duncan Black Winters/LiveWires and EMG81X-7. Amp is the BE-100 and Friedman 412. Mic'd the GB with a combo of Lewitt MPT440/sE VR1 on the left and a Beyerdynamic M201 TG/sE VR1 on the right and for the leads. Bass is Helix Native with the drive out front.

No matter how you splice it or how good IR's are... real mics just breathe the life back into the tone. Pedal sounds good on bass btw but I also thought your bass had a nice clean tone. Also really think your mic arsenal is fantastic. How about an updated nerd gear/bedroom studio tour??

Hey thanks man! Yeah I was really surprised with how good the Helix stock bass rig sounded and I DEFINITELY prefer a real boost in front as opposed to the modeled boosts.

I agree on mic's as well. I still love the Torpedo but I will likely sell it and grab the ReLoad for reamping and attenuation. I am really enjoying using mic's and would rather deal with slightly lower than "gig volume" for tracking at times.

I will definitely do an updated studio rundown very soon.

FYI, Anthony over at AMM who made the pedal is finalizing his sig boost for Mantis, also of Venom/Venom Inc. so I am sure he'll be sending me one of those. He makes killer amps as well.

The only thing I have to say about Venom is Black Metal matters

What is Venom/Venom Inc?
Is that the same band that played Evil in League with Satan in the 80s?
When I get home I'll be sure to check this vid out

Exactly right. Mantas was around for all the classic albums I believe (the guitar player) and Tony, the guy who's sig pedal this is, played bass and sang from like 87-92. The drummer for Venom Inc was in The Absence.
