I just picked up a Darkburst neck and Godwood bridge pickup after searching for a few months on which pickups to buy and put in my LP Standard. I had a Burstbucker Pro in the neck and SD Full Shred in the bridge before, and though they sounded good, I wanted some pickups with a bit more clarity: more natural to the guitar. Took me a long time to finally get around to ordering because I have limited funds and compared with other prospective endeavors, figured pickups weren't that high a priority. Might've been wrong about that....
They do what I wanted and so much more! My Les Paul sounded great before, but with the WCRs, is more powerful and sounds flat out better! That's really what surprised me the most: I recorded some before and after test clips and when going back and forth, the actual sound from the WCRs was far more rich and pleasant than before, especially going from the Burstbucker Pro to the Darkburst!
If anyone is on the fence, and you have an amp where you can actually hear the characteristics of different guitars (aka not a Rectifier or the like; no offense Recto owners) I definitely recommend these. Awesome pickups all around and Jim is a great guy to deal with!
