New pickups! Sort of...
I had a set of Thornbuckers in my custom 24, and I just never gelled with them. I just never could get a good sound and it was super frustrating. I found a set of used BK VHii's on Reverb, pulled the trigger, and put them in the PRS....HOLY SHIT. It's like a new guitar. HUGE sound, great in every position.
I bought an HH pickguard for an older american Strat I had, put the Thornbuckers in, and BAM!!!! THEY SOUND GREAT! crazy.
So I had what felt like 2 new guitars at gigs this weekend!!!
Any of you ever have pickups that let you down, swapped them into another guitar, and they worked great?
