Enjoy the gig, my friend :)

I still need to check out the PSA one day.

Thanks for the tips, Lord. That I was asking if the Mac X Editor would run with the C48 . . . bummer . . . Perhaps I will use boot camp for the first time then and install windooze on my MBP until I've created 20 good presets.

FX are cool. An fx-only machine will give you more options though. Since I'm using mostly a 380ms delay and some reverb, I don't care too much.
Also the harmonizer just adds one voice and has a limited number of scales, butr I can live with that.

For 500 bucks hard to beat IMO.

Agreed, the harmonizer is nothing special. I don't really use harmonizers though so I just overlook that   Digitech is releasing an official firmware update next month, maybe our little complaints will be fixed in it? They've already said it won't be much different than C48 but keep your fingers crossed!

Hopefully.

Btw - where did you get teh info about the firmware update, I can't find anything . . . Thanks.

Butch,

Currently the new and official release of the GSP1101 is in the final stages of testing. Are plans are to make it official in February. The GSP1101 has not been forgotten, most of us here at DigiTech use one. The must be beta version was a way to get it out and bypass our internal red tape.

As per Ross, I can only say that and endorsement couldn’t be offered but I did offer my thanks and greatly appreciate what he did for the product.

As per Ross's latter postings, I will not participate in the "flame war" game and trashing somebody. I doesn't do anybody any good. Ross is a good guy. Let's leave it at that.

Jason

Guys,

Jason here. To set the record straight, I am an engineer that jumped to marketing. I've designed everything from pedals to multi-fx to amplifiers. To top it off I lurk here quite a bit so you all have been heard for quite sometime.

Dig has guys on here that do pay attention but it takes a little bit of time to find resources to implement wanted changes. You'll find the same thing with pretty much any company.

To answer the release questions - The GSP1101 release will be firmware only - not a new product. The download will be free and will not be much different than that on mustbebeta. I will have more information about the final version next week. Stay tuned.

Jason

how do you compare the effects to that of gmajor 2?

Never tried one but they're much better than the G-Major I used to have.

congrats Olaf, really like the features on those.

How is the I/O latency? Have you any info how it compares to the 0.8ms of the Axe?

Sorry, no idea Christoph. I don't notice anything "negative" though . . .

The Killer test is running W/D without an analog mixer and adding dry signal on the wet route. If you have severe phasing issues, it's significant.

However if the processor feels immediate when playing it (and you had an Axe so you can tell the difference) then it's good

Actually I think myself about selling the Axe and getting one of these 1101s instead. It does the same trick for much le$$ methinks.

Can you bring yours to this summer's amp fest at Yoeris for trying?

Sure.

For me was important, that the built in loop works (level-wise) in a better than the (suboptimal) AxeFX-loop. It does. My preamps sound 95% as good as going direct into the VHT.
And the Marshall sims (with some post eq) are very good. The SLO sim makes a nice lead, the Twin sim a more than useable clean. Thats all I need to be honest, now I'm waiting for the FW update to make it even a bit better . . .

I hear all the effects are pretty kick ass, doesnt color tone of the amp either, just interested in the fx part.....
anyone running the footpedal that goes with the gsp1101 ? how are you liking it? hows the wah wah in it?

Give it another 2 weeks and you'll be even happier. I was happy with the preamps from day 1 but now they are a lot better since I've gotten to know my unit a little better. C48 firmware, and I assume the new official firmware, gives you SO much more! More amps, improvements to the existing amps, and a really useful Pre-PEQ. The PEQ's are where it's at. ANY tone imaginable is obtainable with the array of amps and some EQ tweaking, I imagine you can do magical things being an experienced amp modder!!!

The Control2 was one of the big things that sold me on the GSP1101. SO easy to use and only one ethernet cable to run between your rig and your feet. The wahs are wonderful and very configurable to your needs. I scored the GSP1101 and controller used/mint for $600 shipped :) Best gear investment I've ever made!

Well, although I'm one of the hardest Mac addicts (since the early 90s), I've used BootCamp and got me (vomit) Windooze 7 or so DVD and installed the "holy grail" firmware.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

Thanks for helping me Lord, much appreciated. I really love this unit now.

  No problem bud! As I said just wait for the official firmware and I'm sure it'll work with Mac. In the meantime... I guess there's worse options than Windows 7 :) Not bad really. I'm a Linux addict and I like it!
