With all the threads lately around racks and Synergy I wanted to share my little rack journey.

So I’ve been eyeing the Synergy stuff for awhile with the idea of possibly replacing a few heads and after going down an unsatisfactory rabbit hole with modelers and FRFR where I only found a good sounding solution through a tube power amp and real cab I finally bit the bullet.

Big thanks to MetalJim for an enjoyable experience selling me his Peavey Classic 5050 (you always meet the coolest people on RT). After running my BE100, MKIV and Pittbull into it I’m happy to say it’s an amazing sounding amp.

So I picked up a cheap power conditioner,
a 6u case (as I’m thinking of adding a 1u rack multi-effects unit), but also wanted to leave some breathing room and a SYN-2.

I’m currently running the Pitbull Ultra Lead and the Deliverance modules. I had the SLO II but sent it back to Sweetwater as it just wasn’t for me and am waiting on the Drect module. These little things along with the PV sound awesome!

Synergy with a solid power section is the RT version of "Baja tele and an AC15" on TGP - basically anyone will find something that works for them with the right module and big iron.

Those 50/50s are fucking huge sounding and super underrated

Nah it's not that you've fallen low, it's just a solution that will work for just about anyone because it's such a versatile setup that everyone agrees sounds great

The interesting part is that in the room, the power amp is the key - the pres sound way, way better with a legit rack power amp like the 5050 than the dedicated synergy stuff
