I like the Redbacks a lot. Of the new Celestions I’ve tried (Lynchbacks and Creamback 75’s) I prefer the RB by a mile.

I know I posted back in 2019 about having a redback in a boogie Thiele…. Earlier this year I went through a bunch of different speakers in the Thiele and the redback was the clear winner.

The G12K100 is pretty blah in the midrange. Red back seems to have a lot more character in the mids. Can you fine folk confirm?

I have a pair in a vertical 2x12. I really dig them. They certainly have more mids character gong on than the k100's.

I love Redbacks. I've mixed them with CV75's, V30's, H75's, Man-O-War's and EVM's and they're great with all of them. Currently have them with EVM's and it's my favorite.

I'm holing you responsible Jer.
Going to order a pair and put em in a open back 2x12 similar to yours.

I better like them...LOL

I mixed a pair with v30’s in as Diezel cab. Sounded really good.

Damn,
Maybe I should buy 2 16 ohm ones to mix in a 4x12 instead of 2 8 ohm ones for a 2x12.
I hardly use a 2x12.
(all my cabs are 16 ohms . They go through a switching system and all need to match )

Wire the 2 8 in series. = 16ohm. They're great sounding on there own.

I ran them in X pattern. Was perfect with the vh4 I had at the time. They do sound good on their own. I preferred them mixed though.

Thats how I have my Avatar open back 2x12 wired now.
It sounds great with Creambacks but I really dont use it enough to justify
swapping those for Redbacks so thats why I was thinking to mix em into a 4x12.

Modern day problems huh...lol

Love Redbacks...
Splawn 412 - Redback/V30
Bogner 212 - V30/K100
Stone Age - Redbacks
Bogner 412 - V30/C90

K100 with V30 is also amazing. Sounds as good as my two Redback cab, but brighter and just different. Very throaty.

Bought 2-16ohm Reds
Put them in the bottom of a EVH 4x12.

The EVH speakers are 20 watt/96dB
vs
150watt/100dB for the Redbacks.

Thought the Reds might be overwhelming but they seem to play well together.
I still need to roll them into a cab with V30's just to see if there might be a big difference.

But for now they gel well enough and the bottom end is very dominate.

Bring back old thread!

Running Redback/K100 in one cabs and Redback/CL80 in another. Killer tones.

Gonna get a Stage Craft diagonal 212 and may go RB and M65 in there to give me some light magnet laid back lead closer to a greenback but without the raspy high-end.

Unless I go Eminence or WGS.

Redback in a Closed-Back and a V30 in an Open-Back 112 have been a killer combo for me w/ my Juno.

Anyone else mixing Open/Closed Back?

You guys who like the Redbacks, do you prefer them on their own or blended?
Love them with UK V30s and Creambacks.

I like them blended in a 412 but in a 212 I go back and forth between running them on their own or with a V30, K-100 or CL80.

For my two 212 cabs I have the following speakers to mix and match: Redbacks, UK Mesa V30, K-100 and English CL80.

At the moment I'm running one with K-100/CL80 and one with two Redbacks.

I was running the 212 cabs semi open to get a bigger 412 like sound but it's just not right or punchy enough. I closed up the backs and increased the excurion/resonance on my Bogner 20th Shiva and it makes a difference.

The low end with a Redback and K-100 can be intense.

Hey! What happened to Jer Evil anyway? He get sick of us?

I think he works the door of the womans changing room at Mandalay Bay pool area.
