Nuno sound in first three album era?? how set eq and Gain??
I think He don't uses much gain..
what do you think??
Thanks

Depends on what album you are talking about. The first album was a Marshall amp and an EQ and peavey speakers. That album had moderate gain. The porno album was a preamp and poweramp and that album had a TON of gain.
As far as what settings to use, that also depends on what album tone you are going for.

Also the 3 sides CD it was mainly the ADA and power amp and the Waiting for the Punchline he used the ADA some but mainly was a Fender Vibroverb and a Fender Twin Reverb. So yeah like Gainfreak said it depends on what album.

I love his tone on porno album, it's like crunch squared.

If you go to the ADA Depot, there is a Nuno patch that is supposed to be his setting for the MP-1 on the Porno album. The gain is actually not that high. Honestly, get a Bill Lawerence L500 and you'll be half way there. I have an N2, and can get REALLY close with my DSL100. Also, he used and still uses a RAT pedal to filter the tone on his amps. This is actually a large factor in getting his tone. The other large factor is that he is a super clean player. I read somewhere that during the Porno sessions that he was practicing like 10 hours a day on top of making the album.

The Bill Lawrence L500 USA is in the general ball park bur generally a little fizzy and lacking in low end..am hoping the real deal gets me much closer though

I thought his best tone was on the first album but his best playing was on Porno. I still have a hard time listening to the gay songs though. :D

I always find it interesting when people say this, because I find the L500 in my N2 to be extremely thick in the low mids. Maybe they just vary that dramatically from pup to pup?

Just take a look at Gary Cherone on stage

I know that in first album he used an JCM 800 and in front of it a Rat to tighen up the sound..In pornograffiti I think he used an ADA MP-1 but before an eq (Furman Eq??!!) becouse the sound have more bass than a stock MP-1 have..
With my 5150III I' ve setted the lead channel (red) with gain at 5, bass at 4, mid at 6, treble at 6, and presence at 7..
this is settings for lead sound but I'm not so satisfied...
What do you think??

It has plenty of mids but the low end sounds meh and instead of crisp on the top end it's fizzy so the percussive thunk on muted stuff just doesn't jump out.

Now....I have mine in a Mahogany/Maple top guitar..which is a difference of course...

...anyway, I'll have a Bill and Becky here soon enough (with luck)

In terms of settings...well pretty much Egnater EG5 nails the later stuff, started straight up 12 o'clock..added/subtracted treble and low end to taste....
