OCD RT'ers, how do you store your guitars

I have a nice closet space in the new house that will work perfect for storing my gear. This may be a stupid/uninteresting question but is there anything wrong with stacking guitars on top of each other? What are some ways RT'ers store them? I was standing the cases vertically on the floor but want to get them up on the racks.

I actually have that exact shelving unit but I have one shelf per guitar. There's nothing wrong with stacking the cases but I tend to play different guitars a lot and it's a pain when you want to play the guitar that's got 3 other hard cases on top of it.

I'm glad I'm not OCD as I'd probably never play my guitars if thye were kept in their coffins neatly stacked in storage.

All of my guitars live outside of their case..only put in them when they leave the house.

Make your brain explode...there is some dust particles on a few of these. This is my guitar storage system.

cases are thrown in closets, under beds and scattered around the house but I know where each one is and what goes in it.

This...

If its not out ready to be played, it's in its case standing on end...headstock up.

Very nice! Do you have to routinely dust the guitars and amps?

I have a huge space above my garage that I plan on finishing in the future and plan on having it look similar to yours.

I wish I had the wall space to hang mine lol My music stuff is in my attic and I have probably five feet of vertical wall space that isn't taken up by bookcases. I used to have one of those seven guitar floor stands, but the shelving lets me fit more guitars in the same space.

Gigantic headstocks. No sense taking a chance on them hitting the end of the case and putting pressure on the tips.

Well I don't make a routine out of it but I do dust when needed. The guitars get dusted off every time I pick one up to play so they don't get too bad. The amps I dust when I notice them needing it/

Yup. You don't want that.

^This...

Stored vertically because it's easier to get to them if I want to take one out for a spin...

I have two electric guitars. One stays on the stand, and the other in its case.

I just heard back from Phil from Philtone (the best tech and luthier by the way) and he stated that technically you should store them how they would be played. So upright but sitting on the hinge side of the case. He stated that you will get small minute shifts in the neck if you store them any other other way.
