I have a question:
I'm looking for an OD/Distortion Pedal with no clean bleed.
Is this a soft-clipper vs hard clipper thing, or a construction one?

I read that the OCD is a hard-clipper. Does it have clean-bleed?

Regards,
Simon

The OCD does not have the clean blend.

You can also buy TS variants that have a clean blend knob and you can set it to 0. I think the Nu Tube Screamer is like that. Same as the Sparkle Drive.

Or the Klon with the Gain set to max. Or the OD820.

I don't mean a clean-blend, but the clean-bleed you get from some pedals.
Hard-Clippers doesn't have clean-bleed, as far as i know.

No, yeah. I understood. The thing is with the OD820, you can more or less control how much the clean tone bleeds into the output. The gain knob controls that as well as how much the diodes get driven. With the Sparkle Drive, you 100% can. With a TS808, you cannot. It's fixed.

I had 820s. At least 2. I'm looking for a pedal with no clean-bleed. Maybe i should have been a bit more specific. But i will have a look at the SparkleDrive.
Edit: SparkleDrive is not what i want. ;)

"The dual-ganged Drive pot blends clean and dirty tones, creating stunning clean solo boosts at lower settings and a buttery, light overdrive at high noon. Max it out for a full-bodied overdrive that’s saucy and saturated while still retaining clarity and openness."

It does, as per the Maxon site. The thing is the volume pot is doing two things at once. The only way to get NO CLEAN BLEED, is to turn the gain all the way up, which at the same time, raises the clipping.

But yeah, other than that, the OCD doesn't have any clean signal bleeding through. The Klon also doesn't if you raise the gain knob all the way up, just like the Maxon OD820.

I know how the OD-820 works. I want an overdrive with NO clean-bleed, or blend which i can still use as a "clean"-boost.
I read that the OCD is a hard-clipper. Maybe i check one out. Thanks. ;)
