actually, now that i look at it, the 3100 models seem to have all the same parts. what is the main difference between the 3100 and the 3110?

nevermind, i found the custom build option :D

I just ordered a AL 3100 Silverburst with the wide neck option from Rondo. I already plan on swapping out the bridge pickup for an old late 80's SD JB I have laying around. I'll report back when it arrives, for $400.00 I figured I would give one a try. I wanted an Edwards but they do not offer a Silverburst and don't want to mess with getting a guitar shipped from Japan.

I got this on Friday, pick guard has already been removed. Pickups are crap like I figured they would be, very harsh and bright. But the guitar plays like a dream. Set up was great out of the box. I really like that it came with a Graph-tech nut and bridge saddles. I also like the wide neck option this one came with. Next up will be a bridge pickup swap.

Agile! I wouldn't have believed it without actually seeing and playing one. We did a side by side with my 2003 Gibson Les Paul. Agile was about 1/2 lb heavier, and the pickups weren't quite as hot, but once I set up the guitar, it played just like my Les Paul, and tone was real close. I paid $1800 for my Les Paul, and my friend paid $200 for his Agile.

I had a spalted top Agile that I upgrade electronics. Really a solid guitar, and I'd have no issues recommending one for the cash strapped. Initially they were made in Korea, I'm not sure if they still are, at the same factory that does Schecter.

I I bought a Jack and Danny (j&d) ls 500 that comes with Seymour Duncan's for 300€. I think it is a special edition for musicstore. I bought it out of curiosity and it turned out to be a very nice guitar.

I've been looking at the J&D LPC's over at www.musicstore.de and been wondering how's the overall quality with them. The specs sure look nice for the price, and the fact there's a white LPC really makes my GAS worsen by the minute!

What would you say about the overall quality of your ls500? Would it be worth the money to get one and swap the pups?

Cheers

This is a late reply sorry bout that....

Yes it is definitely worth the money. I think that they have very good build quality. Also the woods seem to be better than average in budget Les Paul. In a higher league for sure. It plays nice as well, nice neck and hardware.
I have 3 Gibson Les Paul and find myself grabbing the LS500 quite often.

Rock on!

I have an Agile too. all it has on the headstock is SX and some dots. its a pretty decent guitar.

Id vote Agile as well, i got a AL 3110 Tiger Eye back in may, LOVE it, its been my main guitar since. The 3110 has the graftech or whatever bridge saddles, i really dont hear or feel a different from regular metal ones so just find a 3XXX color you like haha

heres mine, only thing that is slightly off is the "bookmatching" of the verneer, but i dont care, adds to the look haha

One great thing about the J&D are that there is no veneer top. It is a one thick solid piece of flamed maple. And it even has a long tenon construction which is great especially if one considers the price range. The body of mine is a 2 piece mahogany.

The musicstore offer, 330€ equipped with a Seymour Duncan JB and a Jazz: sorry dudes but it is unbeatable.

p.s. sorry for kind of sounding like a sales rep for jack and danny but I'm still amazed by this guitar considering how cheap it was!
