I forgot about this one. I posted this on Pelican or maybe Rennslist but nobody thought is was funny. Some people have no sense of humor :gethim:

I thought it was funny. Maybe nobody is old enough to know who Dear Abby is ? Anyway, here it is, it's not too long.

So - big car guy here. I've got a Pro-Tour build that has been a trial of epic proportions (aren't they all??) But she has really come together and has started to turn a few heads on the local scene. One of the better known shops in town is having an event tomorrow and the guest of honor is none other than Chip Foose and his Overhaulin' Crew. (This is a BIG shop locally. Heavy Hitters.) The folks from the shop called me last night to ask if I would be willing to display my car at their shop for the event tomorrow. WTF!?! HELL YES!!! Just finished running the 15mm Rupes with Carpro Essence over every square inch of paint. Black is a curse, not a color. Will post some pics from the event on this thread. Attaching a random snap of the car from another cars-n-coffee earlier this summer.

Man, sitting next to "regular-looking" cars, that thing is a beast and from another universe.

Thank You Monkey! She did turn out pretty nice. She looks good and was built to be driven and enjoyed. Definitely not a Kindig or Martin Bros level build, here: no custom fab work or metal work. But it represents the type of build someone could achieve without a ton of custom cutting, welding and fabrication.

My advice for anyone who has a certain year or make of car that they want - be patient and wait to buy one that is DONE! As they say, buy someone else's dream. The headaches and unforeseen problems during any build are monumental. Let someone else do that part!!

That's a sweet car my friend. Now I have 2 things to be jealous of you on  :(

Coincidently, I was watching Overhaulin earlier this morning and they were doing a Black Trans Am with a custom eagle on the hood. Very similar to your car. At first I thought it might be one in the same. Hope the show was good for you today. Would love to see more pics of this beauty.

And yeah, black for a car is just.....bad. Looks amazing, but shows every freckle. I had a black Tahoe once.

If there's one cliche when it comes to Trans Ams, that would be it, so no surprises there.

Heck, if I could afford one, that's exactly how I'd roll.

I absolutely NEVER do a good enough job of shooting pics at these events. I get immersed and side-tracked and ‘boom’ the event is over and I’ve got 3 pics(?). But had a great time. Lots of killer builds. I parked with a friend who has this Sunco Oil Tribute Car. Oh, he also has a numbers matching 73 Super Duty Trans Am that rarely leaves the garage!

One of the local photographers shot tons of pics, and I just 'borrowed' these from his page:

Sick
Love the honeycomb wheels
No Doubt. Prior Owner did a great job selecting those. Those are from Year One, but YO has since discontinued them and replaced them with a slightly different version. If I was picking, I'd have picked these, so I was damn glad they were already on the car!!
