I STILL do not have my fucking s520ex back from the tech, but hopefully Ill be picking it up today with the BG pups in it.

Gay.

I'd say we should carpool, but it might be difficult to fit everything into either of our vehicles.

I have a honda element....You would be surprised how much shit can fit in there.

I cant carpool though, cuz Im gonna have to leave right away...got a BBQ to go to for a friends bday that starts at 530...in Apopka...

re-updated!

some people dropped out, but it's all good

I just hope ALL the people we still have know this is goin on

Also, drinks/snacks are allowed, just can't get messy and spill it all over the place

AND bring power strips. Lost of em. Not sure how the outlets work, but I don't think they'll have them on the ground, so we might have to get some extensions from the wall

Sweet. Ill try to remember a 6 pack and some snax or something. I have 2 or 3 power strips, I think. I have a 100 ft extensions chord that I can bring if necessary as well.

New amp update, I'll be bringing my new friedman Naked amp along with the Marsha!!!!!!!!!

So this sucks.... I can't take off of work tomorrow so no Mark 4 for you guys. I really hope someone has a camera or recorder for this. I was looking forward to hearing the Dave Friedman amps. Have a good time everyone !

Dave

SUCCESS!!!

Just picked up the matching Bogner 2x12 extension cab for my alchemist (and a POD xt live).

So, I'll have:

Bogner alchemist 2x12 combo
Bogner alchemist 2x12 extension cab
'97 American strat
Epiphone Sheraton
Line 6 Pod xt live

And a tuner. And cables. I have no power strips, but FYI, you can buy them at the dollar store. I might pick up one or two.

Also, I'll have my HD Flip camera.

sweeeeet, it was awesome meeting you guys, I had a lot of fun

might post a recap of the event later tonight, everything went perfectly though

Ill try to upload pics tomorrow. Bout to go to bed...spent the rest of the day in apopka at a party. Awesome meeting you dudes. TheFYNs JCM, I think was my favorite amp of the day.

That JCM did sound Killer!! Cool dude also.
That other dude with the stock Plexi boosted with the Radial bones pedal was kick ass also

Good times fellas

I'm the guy with the plexi. The London Bones is awesome IMHO. I was suprised at how little interest there was in it, (except for Tubes & Slinger)

I also ripped a hole in my T-shirt offloading your heavy ass "stone something" cab. It was a free shirt from a bar than no longer exiasts, so no worries.

What was the name of that cab ? They should call it a 20 stone cab, because that's what it felt like it weighed. Nice sounding cab, but damn, it was heavier than my mesa oversized cab.

thanks to Khoi for a great ampfest. Everything went as smooth as a gravy sandwich.

It was great to meet some of the guys I hadn't met before, and see some old friends. Everyone there was friendly, and eager to show off their amps, and let you jam on them as much as you wanted. The spirit of ampfest is alive and well.

Here's some selected memories.

khoi was very cool, and his cameron modded 800 sounded very nice.

theFyn's "ghetto gear" a sweet and beat 800 combo & pawn shop prize guitar sounded huge. IMHO the best sounding rig there. Very percussive and clear. Fyn has a jackhammer for a picking hand

Dolf's Alchemist was killer. I think I may pick one up on the cheap soon, so I have a small versatile combo for gigs.

Jay Strange's Friedman Naked/Marsha - There were a lot of people lined up for these. they sounded good to me, but lacked a little high end fizzle which I like. They reminded me a lot of a Splawn. If your a fan of Sykes tone on the Whitesnake album, this should be your amp of choice. Very loud amps.

Guitarsk8ers VHT had a sound similar to the Friedmans. It was thick and filled the room, plenty of gain on tap but for me it lacked the little top end sizzle I love.

A few people brought 5150/6505's. They all sounded good, just like all of the 5150/6505's I've ever played.

I've gotta get the high treble volume pot replaced on my plexi, and get the master volume mod done before the next ampfest.

When is the next one ???????? :gethim:

ps - My kid took pics, I'll try and get them up soon.

Got pics up, but I dont have access to my friggin photobucket account at work!!! Ill try to post them later today.

Those Friedmans did sound sick, but I still like FYNs 800 better. To me, that amp just sounded damn near perfect!! It was cool to hear the infamous d60 through a different cab, but even through that it was lacking something to me, though it did sound SIGNIFICANTLY better through the 412 than my 212....makes me think I need to get my hands on a 412 :(. DoubleBarrell had TONS of cool pedals on his board. When you left, the room felt VERY empty haha. Overall, tons of cool gear. Couple 5150s (mine included)...it was cool to compare all 3 versions at the same time.

Now Im looking for a JCM800 212 lol. That thing just sounded amazing.
