Anyone see it last nite? George Lynch was the guest guitar player, i thought he flat out SUCKED! dont know what amp he had,but had the flanger or phaser going the whole time,sounded horrible to my ears.and he seemed to struggle while playin,wierd.
 
saw it too... looked like there was a tech tweaking stuff but to no avail.
 
I'm not sure what happened, but George is not the same player that he once was. :no:
 
I just wanna know what's with those retarded looking fingerless gloves he's wearing all the time? If he's looking to start a trend, Madonna was doing that 25 years ago. :lol: :LOL:
 
I saw it. Tone was horrendous.I wonder if it was a POD or something direct into the board? I didn't see any amps. They had Craig Goldie a few weeks ago who was kinda lame too. Someone else last week who i can't recall but he had a Marshall stack that didn't sound so hot.
I met Jim Florentine and Don Jameson at the Venetian in Vegas. Those two are fucking hilarious in real life. :lol: :LOL:

That was Traci Gunns with the Marshall. the camera panned in overtop of him and i saw a POD on the floor.Marshall must of been for looks,but the Pod must be for the crappy tone. :lol: :LOL:

I saw it and thought the same thing. I also can't take Phil Anselmo for more than 2 minutes...never could stand the guy.
 
Why not change the channel? The guy is like 50 something right? Could be arthritis, not practicing as much as he did when younger, could be anything....i know I don't practice 8 hours a day anymore.
 
I didn't mind his playing as much as the fuckin Flang or Phase he had on the whole time.

I saw him twice this year. Once with Souls of We and once with Lynch Mob. His tone and playing killed with SOW. Not so much with LM. He is either fighting his tone or tearing it up IMO.

hes seemed out of it for that past few recent vids ive watched of him. i think his style has changed from the 80s. seems like when he tries to play the old stuff he cant handle it


either that or hes on the dope

what guitar was he playing??

I wish they were funny on the show. I want to like that show but all three of those guys are just painfully awkward and dull. It was actually Anselmo who was the only entertaining thing on the show. He was like the Shatner of metal with his speaking delivery. Plus I dig the brunette chic they had a lot more than the blonde one!!

Huh???

His "Tone" has changed with every single release he's ever played on, since 1982!

Different gear/amps/guitars/cabs/tubes/strings/picks/pickups = different "Tone"....

What do you mean, Bro??? :confused:
 
To me it sounds like George is always "searching" these days....like he'll land on one cool phrase every now and then screw the pooch for a few minutes more until he bumps into something cool again. It sounds like over the past 5 years or so he's gotten WAY into the Hendrix type fuzz face soggy bottom/phaser tone he grew up on being a Hendrix fan, but his playing style just doesn't seem to work with it.

Then again, he might just not care anymore.
 
I saw Lynch Mob this year, I didn't expect much...and George was awesome!
 
george was at my shop for a full day a couple of weeks ago trying out different combination of amps and his playing was unbelievable. No one plays like george and thats why hes george lynch and still touring and making a very good living. Alot of times when u see concert clips or tv performances, the tone is only as good as the soundman.
