First, I'm a Marshall guy since birth never buying into boutique amps craze since after finding so many cheap high gain marshall mods that so far, to my ears throttle everything I've come across...that said I'm here now asking in the dark about the long chassi Mark II C+

I may be late to the game in asking. I have no clue even which model steps into the high gain arena but I am. I'm also hoping to from a few of the people around here that I am aware of that know what I am asking, so please open my mind to what some of you appearently know about these highly respected amps. Don't hesitate to post pics of examples since this is about learning all I can.

For me, the onboard graphic EQ is a must. Some people like simul class, some don't (I prefer non-simul). Condition and originality dictate price. I liked my 2C+, but I sent it into Boogie for the ++ mod. I prefer the gain and voicing on the ++ more than the stock 2C+.

Is this what we are talking about? Not the best pic but I'm sure guys in the know can spot these a mile away, like this pic lol

That’s a long head...

Personally, I don’t care about the long head vs short head thing, although presence on the front of the amp is really cool, but it’s really rare.

My first foray into the C+ world was with a 60w 2C(SRG-S for sixty, R for Reverb and G for GEQ) that I found at a GC for 750 and was sent to Mesa for the + for about 600 more including shipping both ways. I'm a Marshall guy like you but the bouncy feel of the C+ is unique, and like you I'm a fan of Cameron modded Marshalls. It has as much definition and 3D quality as any amp out there, and more than most. I've owned SLOs, a Wizard MTL, BE100 and at least one example of a modded Marshall by almost every known guy other than Jose himself. The 2C+ still stands out as an amp that I have to always have here.
I sold that 2C+ 60 for a nice profit but regretted it, so I hunted down a HRG C++ (Like Dave has) and am very happy.
I've learned a lot from Dave, Steve K and a few others who really know their 2C+ and like Dave said, I would always look for one with EQ. I sold mine last spring for 2500 and picked up this 100w ++ for 3K. When I bought this one I had my eye on a DRG(Simulclass) C+ that sold for 3600, little too steep for me. But I'm very happy with this one.

I know there's a lot going design-wise amp to amp but the "bounce" is a huge key to want to play one amp vs another. Anyone here able to explain what is going on inside the circuit? It's mainly in the power section, right?

I'm not sure, there are some threads about the 2C+ on the Boogie Board and that magic that noone, not even Boogie themselves have been able to replicate. Mark IIIs, IVs, V, and the JP2C don't get there. You can get close with some versions of the Mark III and the first version of the IV, or so some people say...but I've had 2 Mark IIIs and to my ears no.
I think the power section has most to do with it as the early Mark IIIs with the IIC transformers are closest but without the pre section, no dice.
Ya gotta go the distance and bide your time, and nab one. Close doesn't cut it once you play the real thing. And, some will say there is a difference between upgraded Cs and original C+s. While the original will be worth more, a C+ is a C+. Whether it started out as a 2C or C+ Mike B is still the same guy who created the original and the guy who will upgrade the C to a +. Same amp. I had an original HRG C+ next to my upgraded 60w C+ and after 2 weeks A/Bing them I sold the original. Sounded nearly identical but I gave the edge to the 60. Little sweeter to me.
