Keep the Rev F or get a 3 channel or roadster? Keep in mind I don't really use fx except wah for Bodies by Drowning Pool and Chorus pedal for Enter Sandman intro. So I do need a clean channel and use slightly over driven sounds for some blues rock.

Love the Rev F best rectifier tone in my opinion but cleans are meh to none series fx loop I only really have channel maybe 2 if I want to get 100 percent of the amp. But I could be selling or trading away a piece of history that could go up in value and hard to replace buy oh so juicy tone.

3 channel (non multi watt) easy to replace cheap to maintain sounds similiar to the Rev F but has a clean that can be decent when used right. You can set up each channel for different tone and it's simple to use I know that amp very well channel 3 was my heavy channel 2 was my rock tone. Buuuuut it's no Rev F

Or the roadster which sounds dark recto style and more like a Mark series to me the a dual. Has the series f x loop and all kinds of bells and whistles which are improvements from the 3 channel better cleans reverb a sort of useful 2nd channel but a ridiculously huge footswitch for a pedal board and not as simple to maintain as its recto cousins. Aaaand it's no RevF.

Thoughts and opinions please

It seems like a big concern is the clean, and I just don;t love any of the Rectifier cleans, they're not bad, but they're not oozing with character and inspiration, they just do the job. So I'm not sure how big an upgrade it is to leave your cool revF just to get marginally better cleans. Maybe get some Rhodes mods to make your clean better? He also does a mean depth mod to the orange channel too, I had a revG with those mods and it slayed....until I flipped it. Miss that one.

Just spitballing here....Framus Cobra has a super Recto flavor with an awesome clean channel if you can find one. I assume a Dragon is similar but a tad more vintage. Lots of cool choices in the 2k plus range too.

Yeah if I break that range I'm going diezel possibly but that's good spitballing lol

I actually bought crankys Rhodes modded dual(which I sold too), it was a beast! I sold it before my daughter was born last year to a friend here. I traded a spare amp last month for a three channel dual and love it. Unlike the Rhodes, I need a boost with this one, but with three chans I can have a modern, an orange cloned to modern, and a clean. Totally worth it.. Before I had to chose between red modern and orange cloned.

And I may not have a refined palette but I've owned a racto, a G, an F(modded), a single, and now a 3 chan. The Rhodes was magic as I didn't need a boost with it. The rest sound so close it's silly. With a boost I actually prefer the 3 chan I have now.

Maybe check out a Trem-o-verb. From all the Mesa Rectifiers I have owned and played it is by far my favorite.

That's what I was going to say. I'm no Mesa expert but it would give you that older recto tone with better cleans+Verb. Could always add a separate drive pedal for foot switchable crunch.

There are ways to add a third clean channel to your amp.
Have a look on the new Synergy line, espacially at the SYN1 Preamp which adds channels to you amp. You can use both remaining Recto channels for your distortion.
Or use a Boss GT multieffect pedal in the 4CM. The preamp modeller of the pedal gives you the clean tone. Bypass the preamp for the distortion tones. Read about this somewhere on the BoogieBoard.
Wouldn't mod the Rev. F.

I would keep the Rev f and buy a Roland jc120 for your cleans. Can be had for $5-$600. Great setup IMO.

keep the F. Don't mod it. non reborn 3 channel duals are cheap and easy to find.

What's the differences between the tremeverb and the Rev F tone wise

Not a recto guy so take this for what its worth. But I was contemplating a Tremoverb for a minute, while researching it it seems guys thought they were a warmer Recto than all others. Cuts better, sits better in the mix. Not to say you can't dial yours the same?

Better cleans. Has reverb and tremolo obviously. The high gain sound is smoother and just sounds better IMO. Probably something to do with the reverb and tremolo in the circuit. The "blues" mode is pretty awesome. Like I said, the Trem-o-verb IMO is the best Mesa Rectifier I've ever played. Love them.

Hetfield is playing a Trem-o-verb in this Guitar Center promo

You said the magic word Hetfield Lol I did try a recto verb today I enjoyed it any other info on it like does it have a clean channel?

A T-Verbs red channel setting is the same as a G. The "blues" setting is a little boxy but the amp does better cleans than regular G's. The tremolo is not very musical. Abrasive.

The T-verbs have a slightly different vibe. Still sound like Rectifiers but have something slightly different going on tonally. I've talked to Mike B. at Mesa about them and he admitted that the reverb and tremolo in the circuit does effect them tonally compared to the regular Rectifiers. IMO it's effected in a good way.

Lol. If you liked the Rect-o-verb IMO you would probably love the Trem-o-verb. To me the Trem-o-verb has more of a stereo/3D sound compared to the Rect-o-verb.
