The guy I bought mine from had removed the stripes. Swore he sent it. But it never arrived. So I'm thinking of painting the grill, but wondering how to do it so it looks cool. I might try painting real stripes on the grill, like the 1984 guitar.

As mentioned, you're not alone...don't really care for the stripe plate either, I'll be removing mine when I get time. Hell, for that matter, I'm not in love witht the WCW belt buckle style logo. I can see myself doing the ole jet city amp idea and simply swapping the rear grill with the front (save the F5150III plate - that's pretty nice). I do like what the OP did however to spiff his up.

what some do is take the rear grill (no stripes) and put it on the front.
