They are worth it for the playability of the necks alone. I have a San Dimas that I love. They are brighter sounding guitars then a LP for sure, but I have a super distortion and PAF in mine and it still sounds pretty thick.
So I picked the guitar up today. The neck really is very nice indeed. Just setting it up, and I've noticed if I have the action where I want it, the bridge and pickup are up off the body, just checking this is normal, right? As it's not recessed I suppose it's normal for the bridge to be higher than I'm used to on say, a Strat, and as a consequence, the pickups are gonna need to be out of the pickguard somewhat.
One other thing, the string alignment seems slightly off. I've bumped the neck over but I actually think it's the nut that's slightly off. Any fix for that? Can I glue a floyd nut?
