k...I think vrad and I (most vrad) got this fucker licked....(no thanks to duncan by the way..'check our forums out for some help'..um...fuck you? you made it!!..but I digress)

three way on-off-on mini toggle dpdt switch for splitting the various modes of the p rails...and that hooked up to a three way blade switch that'll allow switching from the p rails to the neck...the neck won't have any interaction with the toggle or the p rails..but that's ok...

so two knobs, a mini toggle and a 3 way blade...

what a pain in the arse =D

I guess either or will work..just that on the duncan diagrams the switching for the p rails is always shown wired up to an on-off-on dpdt mini toggle....but if you can get the p rails switching to work on a three way blade (like they do on the pacificas) then I wouldn't mind it either way..

I think you just use a 3-way toggle for the modes of the P90 and the blade for switching pickups.

Except, you will only use one side of the on-off-on since you won't have anything else to wire to it.
Instead of the LP-style 3-way toggle, you will use a strat-style. It will work just fine.
