I bought this Giant Yukon for $300 cash out the door in 1994.. I think it's a bit to small as I feel like I'm to up on the Handlebars nowadays, but it still rolls.

I just replaced a 30 year old Bottom Bracket that I got every possible mile out of! It's a square style, and my Cranks have been wallowed out for a bit. I would cut out slices from an aluminum can to shim up the fit and it works for a while!

I have a new Crank and Sprocket set coming today which will be my 3rd set for this Bike. Maybe the last.. I also cleaned up the Chain and Rear Cassette. Zep Purple Industrial Cleaner is amazing as they were caked in dirty grease and that stuff cleans it up quick.. Don't use it on aluminum..

This is maybe 1979 or 80.. LOL I thought that Bike was so cool and it was a turd.

I went to a proper BMX bike when a kid in the neighborhood was selling a Redline.. Mom agreed to buy it for me, but she said get a Reciept.. I get the Bike and told the Kid, Mom needs a Receipt and he tears off a corner of paper and writes "$50 Paid In Full" LOL

I gave it to Mom and I could see in her face that she realized she just bought me a stolen Bike.. LOL
I knew too but I wasn't a kid that was on the grift and didn't know consequence yet.

That 78 Pontiac Bonneville was my 1st car. That spring I jumped the Train Tracks like Dukes Of Hazzard. At the end of the summer the whole exhaust fell off merging on the highway.. I can still see it in my mind watching it tumble in to the grass in the rearview mirror.. :ROFLMAO:

I had a Redline. And a PK Ripper, Hutch and several others. And a never ending rotation of rims, hubs, cranks, sprockets, handbrakes, handlebars and forks. Not all of it quite on the up and up. Eventually a couple of us got sponsored. Then I discovered weed and bitches. Lol

A quick update..

I blundered my Chain a bit in the mix. It worked just fine.. But, I fucked up the Master Link and deleted it and used the Chain Tool to reconnect it.. Those few links are missed because I wasn't able to shift to the tallest Sprocket on the tallest Crank Gear because it's now to short.

Okay, whatever.. I bought a new Chain but now the new Chain won't mesh with the old Cassette, and would slip and skip over the Gears.. WTF?? This is not acceptable.. :ROFLMAO:

The short long is that I needed to replace the Cassette. So now the drive parts are all new..

The old Cassette is clearly worn as fuck compared to the new one. But it worked just fine with the old Chain.. Hmm...

I took up repairing bikes for friends and family as another hobby, since I got into mtb pretty heavy. I thought guitar was expensive, lol. I bought a lot of tools to build a couple nice bikes for myself about 8 years ago, and spent a mint in the process. My bikes are dinosaurs now, tech moves so fast. Gained knowledge, but have a bike shop in my garage that just services my sons and nieces bikes. I'm getting older, so starting to think about the crazy Emtb coming out. The drone company DJI came out with a little motor that shook the industry this year. It's a fun hobby, but be warned, this is how it starts. :p
