This one has both channels.. Normal / Clean and Overdrive.. The gain for both channels is set at noon, and you will be able to tell when I switch..

I am using my Agile AL-2000 on the bridge pickup..

I added some reverb and a touch of delay post record..

I will post both clips (this one and the clean clip from before) later in the clip area, but I thought some of you might be interested..

Pretty beefy for gain at noon. I like the tones you are getting.

I have a Tung-Sol in V1 and a JJ ECC83S in V3, but it sounded plenty good and beefy when all the tubes were stock as well..

When you crank the volume, it really shines..

Can't be beat for $800.00...

Sound good! I`ve been looking at that head. Also plenty of gain on tap.

I've had mine for over a month now and it is the best deal for a $800.00 all-tube amp.

P.S. Put some real power tubes in that thing and watch it come to life.
Those Chinese 6L6WBG tubes really suck !

Yeah, I hear SED's are the best, but I cannot afford them right now...

Might try some JJs...

Did you swap out the preamp rubes, and if so, with what?

Does it have external bias test point andsuch?

The bias adjustment is inside and inaccessible without opening up the amp.. As far as testing, I don't know.. I have not done much bias testing..

Does anyone know if the JCA100H can run on 2 power tubes (in the center or outside)? If so does it effect anything like the ohms?

I mix it up alot. EH12AX7,TungSol,NOS, whatever i need to get the sound/job done.
SED=C=6L6 or SED=C=EL34's are the best i like so far in the power section.

Yes you can safely pull the two outer tubes and run it like that.
It won't change the volume that much, but it will save you on buying tubes in the future. :D
Check your ohm reading when you pull the outer tubes, some say you have two adjust the load setting.

sounded good man! have you tried boosting the amp yet? Works really well.

Sounds great!

Man it is very cool these days you do not have to spend a ton for great amps.

I'm almost sure Soldano amps can be halfed in power quite easily by removing two power tubes without affecting the impedance. Please don't take my word for it, I'm just repeating what the boyz on the Soldano have said after talking to Mike himself.

Best contact Jet City themselves. I hear they're pretty decent for getting back to people.

The clip at the beginning sounds great. It turns a bit mushy and thin at 0:35 mark though. Not necessarily "bad tone", just not quite articulate enough for me personally.

Not yet.. Your clips have made me want an Austin pedal so bad I can taste it, but don't have the cash for it..

I have thought about the Danelectro Cool Cat Overdrive, or the Digitech Screamin' Blues..

Maybe a CC Transparent Drive..

I was trying to get the compressed metal toanz out of it.. Maybe I should boost the mids a bit..

try and find a used OCD. I prefer that over the ausin with the JCA. It doesn't have teh midrange push that the austin brings. Each have their place though (hence both of them on my board) but the OCD is my go to boost 99% of the time with the JCA.

Wow, plenty of gain!
Sounds good. How tight is the low end?

It's hard to hear on the recording, but the low end really kicks ass.. Not loose or saggy..

Then the cool cat overdrive might do in a pinch...
