One of the nicest guitars I've seen

I dig it, but I don't dig the reverse headstock.

Really like the body and the color. Suhr guitars are great. $6000 doesn't seem too crazy considering the wood and detail in the build. There are plenty of Gibsons and Fenders in that price range at half the effort and materials. I like plain jane Suhrs but this is a cool guitar anyway. And no, $500-$700 guitars don't play or sound as good. There is a certain factor for the "Law of Diminishing Returns" but $700 guitars slapped together in mexico with cheap parts are not even close.

I should qualify what I said...USED guitars in the 500-700 range. New, not so much. I had a Charvel Custom shop, beautiful and great playing guitar. Sounded great...but it wasn't that much better than the USA Pro Mod or Hamer USA Diablo that I have now...one was 700 and the other 500. In fact I like the neck of the Diablo as much or better than the Custom. If I had the disposable cash on hand for a brand new axe I would look at a Suhr, Anderson, another Charvel custom...but for now I'll stick with used clean guitars. That Suhr is nice though..

As long as it inspires you, then only you can gauge whether it's a good purchase or not. I sure hope that the price tag on that guitar is some loft MSRP, because I don't know anyone that would pay that much for a Stratocaster replica, even if it is made to a higher standard.

As for me, I would hate to bring a $6k+ guitar out with me to play shows, and I wouldn't want to imagine what putting the first scratch into a $6k guitar feels like.

But, the same goes for the ridiculous prices Gibson and Fender demand too, but the difference is with the big guitar companies, at least it's s known brand, that has some historical weight to it. That's all going to equal resale value.

So, not being as well-versed in Suhrs as I am with many other guitar manufacturers, what sets this guitar apart from other High-End Strats? They have to have a niche to ask that high of a price. I can think of a few big names I could commission a custom build for myself, and it would still come in lower than the price on that.

And FWIW, I'm not knocking the OP and his preferences, or anyone else that loves Suhrs, but I would be a mix of pissed-off if I was a loyal player of Suhrs, knowing that they price their products so much higher than what would seem reasonable, and I would have some pride knowing that my brand commands prices that high to play.

I like a beat up old satin finished natural wood SG with P90's right now for the gig I got. That and an old Ovation acoustic with the solid rosewood neck USA made model from years ago.

But I have a few Stripper Guitars, that cost more than most would seem practical. So by very nature they are not practical. The ESP Hetfield autographed SnakeByte is one of them. A couple sexy top Suhrs are on the list.

That particular guitar isn't the kind of stripper I like. And guitars like that are best thought of that way IMO. For some reason people grasp the concept of appreciating different strippers without judgement. And spending stupid month on that sort of thing? That shit happens too.

I will pass on that stripper guitar. But I'm she she can shake her ass and give a great lap dance.

And isn't that what it's all about?

If you put wood in the fridge for a long time and it turned to mold thats what that guitar color look like.

I love, love, love Suhrs but these special edition ones are not my bag. I wish they would just come out with a 7 String Pro Series.

Love Suhrs...had 4 Custom Classics at one point...but they are way crazy with the prices now. Used to be you'd almost never see a Suhr above 4k...now they're all above 4k

I dig it. And I'm a sucker for beautiful wood and stain combos.

But I'm not GAS'ing much right now. My Anderson Drop Top Classic and Gibby LP Standard are keeping me pretty satisfied.

And honestly, the guitar that's had my attention most over the past six months is very understated, yet elegant.

Anderson Angel Player... Mmmm... yummay...

I think it's pretty damn cool.
I'd probably like to see more of the top aka ditch the pick guard.

Play the hell out of it. Congrats!

It looks cool for me except the pickguard. Change that out and it's cool. :)

Not really the case....The natural series and one's with extra woodwork may be above $4k but there are tons including the best value Pro series for at, around, or even under $2K built in the same shop same guys building them and same quality woods just not the super fancy stuff.

I kinda dig it, but I don't like gaudy guitars, some of the PRS's are too much also...
