I wonder what it cost for mesa to convert a revG into an approx revC. (???)
With shipping and service+mods it surely must be in the grand area.

I believe it’s quite the simple mod really. I’m sure any competent tech could do it. However, the transformers that were in those is a whole other thing.

Getting a RevF modded should fix the transformer thing

I’ve played one . It’s very cool . But I’m love with in my Hermanson recto so I would sell it I feel . I sold my 2c+ because I like my 3++ green strip way more . So I do make choices few do
My C has the fattest, juiciest low mids I’ve ever heard on a Recto. I’d like to try a Herm for a totally different Recto flavor though.

Probably 4 years ago or so, I sent a G Triple in for a full service and C mod. At the time it was around 6-$700 total shipped, give or take. It returned a destroyer of worlds. I only sold it because I scored a Rev C.
As Ves said, the trannys will most likely make a difference. Mine was an early G with Schumacher trannys.

It definitely is different on the mids . It’s more chunk and thibk on a chunk thst cuts through so good . Metal guys love it . Rock guy hate it . It does the meshugah obzen slbuk tone great

If you have a Rev G, it's super easy to do 90% of what Mike B will do but from home. It involves changing out the gain and presence pots for higher values, bypassing 1 LDR, and bypassing 3 other resistors. I did this to a Rev F Triple and it got brighter, tighter with a shit ton more gain, and the Red channel improved a ton. Here's the link to the thread about it...tells you what to do...
