I guess these run around 13K-14K ohms resistance and has an A-5 magnet not ceramic.........I've never heard one of these in person so I surfed YT for clips to see what they sounded like. What do these sound like in person??????? Anyone play these??

This guy's YT video compares Seymour Duncan JB vs. Custom 5 vs. Full Shred vs. Suhr Aldrich vs. Bare Knuckle Brute Force just to give some type of reference to the tones.

I think it sounds pretty good here........................

And one for you chugga chugga metal guys...................

I think that's what came in my 1983 Kramer Pacer. Not sure if it was the original pickup though.
I've seen them around in guitars I've just never played one or really heard one so it kinda got me interested in what they sound like....:2thumbsup:

I had one years ago, might still have it around somewhere. It was a “dirty” sounding pickup for lack of a better term. Kind of dark in a way. Output similar to a Custom.

I’ve had them come in a couple of Charvel’s. I thought they sounded good but not enough power for me. They’re a medium output, but if that works for you then they do sound good. They have an EQ curve emphasizing on the treble which reminds me of a PAF with a brighter bite. Good rock pickup

I put them in my Charvel and they sound great

IIRC, the Full Shred bridge model has the same wind as the SH5 "Duncan Custom" but uses an A5 magnet and 12 hex polepieces. I've found that it kills in some guitars and is meh in others. Duncan has a 21 day exchange policy so you won't be stuck with a pickup you don't enjoy.

I've played several different guitars with a Full Shred in the bridge, but I've never wanted to own that pickup.

OTOH, I think the Full Shred neck model (SH-10n) fuckin' KILLS. It's tone-a-licious. Very throaty. Amazing neck pickup.

The full shred (and the SH14) are both dark and dirty. They are really great for making a strat or superstrat or other 25.5 scale guitar sound more "LP" like

How would you describe the Full Shred versus the Suhr Aldrich? I know you've played that pickup extensively....For me the Aldrich has way too much output for what I like....and I have played that pickup in person.
A little less output than the Aldrich and a little darker. I fixed that with a 550k pot though. The neck is great too. It’s kinda bright for a neck, the way I like them.

Couple Charvels I like come with those, that is why I didn't buy them yet. Full shred, not my cup.

I have as well. A San Dimas, and a DK24. For whatever reason, I especially loved it in the DK, and found it acceptable in the San Dimas. I didn't feel the need to change them in either.

I bought one when it came out. About 35 years ago. Seems to me it was bŕight.
