One Spot power unit and hum....synonymous?

I recently purchased a One Spot power unit and 5 way adapter for a small pedal board I built. It seemed the most cost effective unit for my power needs and space allotment. However, I'm getting a nasty hum. Is that pretty much par for the course with these units?

Are you using it to power pedals that are in the loop AND in front of the amp? If so, I got a hum doing that. If I used it to power pedals that were all in front of the amp, no hum.

+1 that can be a ground loop condition. I haven't actually had that problem with my amps using on PS for the pedals in the front and loop, but I have had friends who have that that issue.

Try disconnecting one pedal at a time from the change and see if the hum is tied to one pedal. My Godlyke power-all is quieter than my old signal Flex PS-9 which has a big transformer in it.

I think I got hum with a Godlyke Power All from powering pedals in the loop and in front before. That's nowhere near half of the story, though. I have a million cables for all sorts of things running all over the place, so I couldn't tell you what the exact cause was.

I have that same set up with no hum. All pedals powered on my board are going to the amps input, not the loop. Check your cables, or you might have "dirty" power.

I have had no problem with mine. A freind of mine said he had problems with it when using his Stiletto and Phase 90.

Thanks dudes!

I am just running it up front and my power is pretty clean... I'll look for a bad cable.
