Opeth - Alice in Chains cover

Not a bad cover at all, but I still like the original better. It has more energy during the chorus. I feel that the song needs more intense singing during that part.
 
I agree that its hard to top Layne, Mikael obviously dosent have the range but hes a completely different singer.
 
I like it, but not crazy about the solo's. Although Cantrell is not a great soloist, he does a lot of "memorable" things that stick in your mind. When I hear this, I expect the same type of memorable thing, but instead I hear a lot of noodley legato stuff that wanders aimlessly in and out. My ears are drawn to the more simpler melody of the original.

I have the cd with this song, but I have to say I didn't find myself wanting to listen over and over
