I saw what everybody's opinions are about the CCV, so I thought I might as well tell you mine since it's for sale. To me, with the cabs I have (EVH 5153's and Marshall handwired w/ H30's) the CCV sounds like a cross between a Diezel Herbert, the new EVH 5150 III and a killer modded Marshall. That's what I hear. What someone else hears may be totally different, but that's my account. As far as price goes, that's what I paid for it, and I'd be an idiot to sell it for less than I paid, being it was used when I got it and a rare piece. I think it was worth every penny, and if I wasn't such a freak about trying different stuff I'd never put it up for sale, but the sale of this could buy me alot, and I miss my Wizard quite a bit too. In addition, the other things I've got for sale aren't moving, so I put it up because if anything will get attention, the CCV will. There ya go for what it's worth. Eric 'metalhead'

Killer amp and I would love to own it.

Same here. This is probably THE one amp that make me the happiest.

Good luck with the sale.

The Camerons will always bring out the haters, no other way to state it.

Would love to have that amp.

Yeah.Nice amp but who's got $4500 to spend these days? And seriously your not going to get much support from the builder if something goes wrong with it.

My opinion? Sell it while you can and be happy to actually get $4500. The hype (and that's what it is) on these are dying out by the minute, and if Mark Cameron really does start making them again, you are going to take a HUGE bath on the whole deal.

Hype..................god I love that fucking word and wished that it stayed over at hcaf.

So let me get this straight.........so a person loves an amp and comes here to explain why he likes it. Several others that know this guy and also enjoy the same tones go and buy this amp as well and yes they now love it.

This is hype?

You never hype bomb any Laundry threads for some reason and you do state how great that amp sounds..............why is that not hype? Some hype and some do not hype depending on who you like maybe?

There were people supposed to be getting those amps that they ordered months ago, and half of them don't even know where their money is or where their amps are. So, I see everyone is riding jock about this amp and I decide to try to sell it for twice the price. Is that not taking advantage of hype about the amp, since there is little supply and high demand? Do you think if all of the sudden 50 CCV's hit the market that there would be people asking $4500 for it?

When I say hype, I don't mean that the amp sucks. I'm saying the HYPE of the amp is driving up the price to an unrealistic level and IF Mark Cameron begins producing them at a mass scale, the price will nosedive. If he could sell them for $4500 new, he would be selling them for $4500.

Also, don't bring your fan-boi bullshit into it. I'm not into the "amp of the week" train like so many others around here. I think Landry amps do fucking rock. For the price and quality, I see very few amps in that price range that can match it. They sound great, are built by a REPUTABLE guy who I know if something goes wrong, would be there to help me with any issues.

Look at you guys. It's like a fucking Amp Club with you. Do you think i'm affiliated with Landry somehow? I liked his amps and I said it. I also love Peters amps and I tell everyone I love them, and me and James have had some disagreements in the past few months and haven't communicated much. Would I buy his amp? Of course!

There are many great guitar amps available. It's all a matter of personal preference. Buy what makes you happy and forget about the bullshit....

Sorry but I do not own a Cameron amp and have had many opertunities to own one, so I must be a piss poor fanboi at best.

Same could be said to any limited addition Ferrari, gun, sports tickets, etc................that is not hype but capitalizing in an open market in order to obtain a profit. Plus the OP stated that the asking price is what he has into the amp, not that it matters. I would Ebay that sucker to the highest bidder.

Take the months coming up to the launch of the I-Phone.............that is vaporwear hype as there were no tangable units out but a ton of speculation and hype. There are plenty of camerons out there hence reviews are not hype but fact.....or at least the owners opinion.

No, I know you are not affiliated with landry and the builder seems to be a great guy, kind of sorry I brought his name up and wish him the best. But that is the only new amp I knew you enjoyed and since you like it and state it here just as many state they like camerons then I guess you are hyping landry amps.

Amp club, I agree with that as lots of us do enjoy collecting amps :)

Frankly, I do like Landry amps, but for my style of music it wouldn't make sense for me to buy one. I don't use much overdrive and tend to prefer single channel amps. Now, if somehow Landry disappeared off the face of the earth having only made a few amps and I got one of his amps and sold it for $5000, I would fully expect people to call me out on it.

I guess you are right though, I shouldn't be blaming someone for trying to make a buck. It's not his fault if someone is willing to drastically overpay for something so they can have "the golden ticket"...even if they too will end up turning around and selling it.

Agreed.

The way some people act, you would think they actually have a vested interest in Cameron amps  .

I'm sure as hell glad I don't, because I have personal friends who DID have a vested interest that I consider great people.....and I saw how they were treated.

I'd love to try one :D Just not willing to pay the price of admission

I can kinda see everyone's point here - the cameron factory stuff is quickly becoming 'unobtanium' and will be at a premium until he gets things rolling, if that ever happens. Even if he does, I could see amps being sold as 'pre crisis' or whatever...

However, even some of Cameron's detractors say how good they sound, so the total hype isn't just in the rarity, it's the tone too. I was and still am interested in his work, but $4500 is a lot more coin than I'm willing to drop in cash and/or trade. I have some fairly expensive amps, but that makes me feel like my SLO and Ecstasy were bargains.

If I was Mark I'd find a company that was small enough to work with but big enough to produce his amps, let him just do the R&D and maybe a little custom job here and there on the side. Let someone else worry about production hassles and he could just kick back and be creative.

Of course, someone probably has already reverse engineered his mods and is selling them or is about to. :(

Paragraph 3...never gonna happen. All amp builders resist this like the plague! Even my partner had to be bludgeoned over the head to get hi to accept it, more than 8 years later!

It may never happen but would be a better deal for Mark than bankruptcy or people storming his shop like villagers in a frankenstein movie! :)

Jeff, if you get a chance could you shoot me an email on the thing we've been discussing? :) thanks dude@!
