There are many great guitar amps available. It's all a matter of personal preference. Buy what makes you happy and forget about the bullshit....

Agreed.

The way some people act, you would think they actually have a vested interest in Cameron amps  .

I'm sure as hell glad I don't, because I have personal friends who DID have a vested interest that I consider great people.....and I saw how they were treated.

Do you always speak for your friends? I dont have the time to worry about other peoples problems. I have enough of my own

I don't speak for anyone, I speak for myself.

I played the CCM at NAMM a couple of years ago and was amazed by it. Great amp and based on what I understand of the differences with the CCV, I believe I'd like the CCV even more for my taste. If I could have gotten a CCV or a 100 W Marshall Super Lead w/High Gain Jose mod back when I was BEGGING for one, I never would have started building my own amp, so... in a way, the difficulty in obtaining one was a blessing for me. I've learned an incredible amount and have loved the whole experience so far... I'd still love to own either a CCM, CCV or High Gain Jose though I'm doing my own thing since mine will be more like my original Jose Arredondo-modded amps (only with more flxibility and footswitchable modes), but I'd never pay $4500 for the CCV/CCM or $3K for a modded Marshall. I'm sure you'll find someone who will, but it won't be me. It seems ridiculous to pay high prices because the guy who developed the stuff can't, for whatever reason, deliver to a marketplace that seems hungry for his products. It is a sad case of missed opportunity and other builders will reap the benefits of his creating this demand. Nothing against Mark - he seems like a nice guy the times I've run into him - I have no idea what the problems he's experiencing are, the whole thing is just unfortunate... but it IS an opportunity for other builders/modders.

Now there is a long-winded response, no? But it did allow me to bump your thinly disguised spam thread! :gethim:

If I was Mark I'd find a company that was small enough to work with but big enough to produce his amps, let him just do the R&D and maybe a little custom job here and there on the side. Let someone else worry about production hassles and he could just kick back and be creative.

As I understood it, that was the whole premise of the Cameron amps company to begin with - Chris Schmidts' 'mil-spec' wiring company was going to build the amps and handle orders / customer service, while Mark was just going to handle the design. In fact that was the only reason so many people plopped down a deposit to begin with way back when, since Mark already had a rep for taking months or years to turn amp mods around with little to no communication. I wonder if any of those posts from Chris are still around or if they've disappeared...?

Anyway, I had a CCV and sold it, but I did keep my favorite HG Jose.... ;)

i never thought i would spend over 4k on an amp until i bought a vh4. its your amp, sell it for what you want. someone will buy it eventually. i would love to try one out and see what all the "hype" is about though.

$4500 is collector/aficionado money but it's clearly worth that to the right buyer....just a bitch to sell in today's market.

Sorry but I do not own a Cameron amp and have had many opertunities to own one, so I must be a piss poor fanboi at best.

Same could be said to any limited addition Ferrari, gun, sports tickets, etc................that is not hype but capitalizing in an open market in order to obtain a profit. Plus the OP stated that the asking price is what he has into the amp, not that it matters. I would Ebay that sucker to the highest bidder.

Take the months coming up to the launch of the I-Phone.............that is vaporwear hype as there were no tangable units out but a ton of speculation and hype. There are plenty of camerons out there hence reviews are not hype but fact.....or at least the owners opinion.

No, I know you are not affiliated with landry and the builder seems to be a great guy, kind of sorry I brought his name up and wish him the best. But that is the only new amp I knew you enjoyed and since you like it and state it here just as many state they like camerons then I guess you are hyping landry amps.

Amp club, I agree with that as lots of us do enjoy collecting amps :)

Well shut up then since you're not part of the fucking Cameron fanboy club.

Shit, you have a valid point!!!

Actually laughing out loud... You guys are a riot :hys:

You never hype bomb any Laundry threads for some reason and you do state how great that amp sounds..............why is that not hype? Some hype and some do not hype depending on who you like maybe?

Some people just dont get it. They want to inject their negative 2 cents. I never went into Landry amp threads bashing them...(and I dont care for them ;) )
Give it your best shot man.Seems like you are holding back something you would really like to say about Landry.Otherwise there would be no reason to bring up his name.I will stand behind Bill over any other company out there no matter how good their products may be.The man is awesome dealing with customers and delivers his product when he says he will. This kind of thing that we are seeing now on this forum is why I'm not going to launch the wah pedals.I'll build them for friends.

Whatever man.Landry should not even be in this conversation much less his name spelled wrong(Laundry as spelled by Digital Jams).I mean,Cameron could learn a few things business-wise from a guy like Bill.
Last part edited because I do not know the details.Sorry DJ.

I brought up Landry and I will say it again...............wish I had not and wish him the best. I brought him up to make a point to japetus since I know he likes those amps and speaks highly of them. People that speak highly of cameron get called out for hype so I asked if his high regards for Landry was also hype.

That is all it was and nothing else, from what I have heard he makes a great amp for those looking for that type. I have never chimed in on a Landry thread and will never mention that name again

Damn

I AM SORRY FOR MIS-SPELLING SOMEONE'S NAME!!!!!!!!!

Thank god he does not have some crazy old school Russian name

if someone's wanna sell his amps for whatever the price he wants just let him do!! untill everyone respects the rules of this forum (do you remember the little check you agreed when you registered? :D ) everythings fine...i find useless to argue on someone else's add with his price choice or denigrate his amps. i'm not biased since i never tried or seen any of these amps but i would really like to! let's only talk about gear...if i ever want to get angry i could just turn on the tv!! ;)

rock on

So are you saying everyone should disobey the rules? I don't get this statement.

I find it amusing that some guys out there get bent out of shape when they see an amp like the CCV first come out and sell for $2600 or so. Then when they start selling for $4500 on the used market they are the head cheerleaders for the negativity parade.

I salute anyone who took a gamble on a CCV and was actually able to get one. Those people who are selling the amp for $4500 DESERVE every penny they get since they took such a big gamble in the first place for dropping money on amp that only nostradamus knew if it was showing up or not.

I guess then you should feel happy that you weren't one of the ones that dropped the coin and didn't get what you paid for.The fact that only a couple made it out yet so many paid for them is the only reason someone could sell this amp for that much. It's on the backs of those who got fucked. If I were them,I'd be bitter too.

Well I for one have never spoken out on Cameron amps as hype.I was in contact with him about his "illness" and spoke with him about a friend who had a similar illness and what he was doing to correct it.I even offered to put him up free of charge here in NY to see some really good doctors here that could possibly help.I have no ill will toward the guy.I had an '83 2204 Aldrich mod that I thought was killer but the board was gooped up and I couldn't trust gigging the amp because I knew I couldn't send it to him to fix if it needed it.I still wish him well but he needs to send people their amps or their money.

Everybody seems to be missing that he bought it used for $4500 and is selling it for what he paid for it

i just mispoken
i should have written : "untill" instead of "unless"

Can't we all just get along???

Seriously, it's a fucking AMP, people. If you like it or don't like it, who really gives a shit? We're all grown-ups, I think, and entitled to our own opinions. The people who threw down cash for a CCV/CCM and didn't get one have every right to be pissed, but for those who have no skin in the game or don't like the tone to go around bashing others just because they like the man's amps is ludicrous. I don't see any posts above defending Cameron's business practices, so why get so worked up about it? Put all that pent-up energy into getting laid or becoming a better guitarist or something.

Off soapbox, carry on...
