So I recently found an Anderson that Im really digging but don't have the opportunity to actually play before buying. I was thinking about moving my PRS for it. Any Anderson owners out there care to share their opinions on them.
This is my PRS

this is the link to the Anderson

My favorite guitar of all Time is drop top, that is out of like 300 guitars. Playability and tone as good as it gets

+1. Tom Anderson's are as good as it gets as far as quality too. Very nice people as well. Tom always stayed small and focused only on guitars. They only make about 700 per year.

I've owned several Prs and several Anderson guitars. Personally I prefer Anderson, I find them to be more consistent as far as tone goes. I haven't had any Anderson guitar that sounds mediocre , All of the ones I've had play and sound incredible, no exceptions.

Now that's not to say Prs guitars aren't great in there own right. There will be those who prefer them over everything else. My best advice is this, if you own any guitar regardless of the brand that is an instrument that plays and sounds great to you DO NOT sell it. Even Anderson guitars will sound and play a little different from guitar to guitar, even if the specs are exactly the same...Wood is naturally inconsistent so when you find a guitar you like a lot its worth holding on to.

Being as objective as possible, my Anderson is probably the best guitar I've ever had. Fit and finish is just awesome and the A-wedgie neck join seems to add a ton of resonance and feels great too.

I'm a 'floyd guy' and have had guitars from Jackson, Charvel, Suhr, Kramer, Ibanez, ESP, Hamer, GMP, GMW etc. If I could get the Jackson OCD out of my system, I'd go to Anderson..

The Andersons was so immaculate in the hands its insane. I will probably own an Angel at some point since the body design and fret access is better than a suhr modern.

I'd keep the PRS, is there something you don't like about it ?

Actually no, I like my PRS but between the 2 guitars Im down to at the moment if I want the Anderson I would have to move one. I don't think I would be able to sell my Custom Shop Wolfgang so the PRS would have to go. Heres a pic of my Wolfgang

This exactly. You may never gel the same way with another guitar if you sell one of your faves. Sell something else if you can, or find another way. Guitars are so personal, when you find the right feel....sounds like I'm giving relationship advice!!

Tom is a great guy. If you call their shop, he picks up the phone and is happy to talk.

They make great guitars, no doubt. But not everyone will immediately gel with their guitars. Though if you like PRS guitars, I think you'll like Andersons too. They have the same "modern" feel to me.

If you really like it, then go for it.

However, that PRS Floyd is absolutely beautiful. As much as an Anderson is a beautiful guitar and I've owned one years ago when he had the 4 bolt neck, I wouldn't trade the beauty that you have for it. A couple of amazing guitars you have there! Well done!

Not against Andys in any way,but if you dump the PRS Floyd, your going to loose
that "set neck" fattness.
You already have the Custom Wolfie to fix your bolt on fixation.

I'm an Anderson fanboy, but say wait it out and start saving for an Anderson.

You have 2 really nice guitars, no need to take a hit on those just to pay full pop for the Anderson. Save and keep your eye on the used market.

Anderson and Suhr are two companies that are top of the heap

Yes but that PRS is a 25 scale and set neck so it's going to sound bit different from a 25.5 scale bolt on. While I don't like FLoyd's I did check out a few of those FLoyded Custom 24's and Holy Shit.....they are nice.

Suhr.....for now and Anderson are among the best but PRS makes a few models that are simply killer.

Another for Anderson. For me I prefer his guitars over Suhr and Fender custom shop. His neck profiles are super comfortable and he aims for top tonal quality, not just wood/aesthetic quality. If it's a dead guitar it's going to the scrap heap - he checks them all before going out the door.

Ditch the PRS and go Anderson :)

You won't find a critical word about Andersons anywhere.

Lmk if that PRS needs a new home

Can you post more pictures of that custom wolfy? She's a beauty :inlove:

heres a few,its NOS condition with all the paperwork and build disk. It was also a NAMM show guitar the last year the Peavey Wolfgang appeared in 2004.The color has a strange shimmer/color change effect depending on the angle you look at it.
