Opinions on Celestion Heritage G12M?

I purchased a quad of these to use in with my Silver Jubilee rig. They have a slight "hairy" sound to them when using preamp gain, not so much when running loud and clean. Is this due to the fact that they're not yet being broken-in, or is this inherent to the design?

I'll have to give them another shot, as I put the original G12T-75's back in the cabinet. I've been holding onto the G12M's, in hopes of getting another NMV Super Lead rig.
