I am thinking about having Dave do an amp for me. I noticed a lot of people send him Marshalls to be modded. I was wondering what you all like better the Marshall mods or his own amps? I am also thinking about the Marsha. I want the BE,HB and custom 45 I would like them to be footswitchable.

Well here is what I can tell you. If you get a pre 79 marshall and put the mods on it will be great but with a old amp like this you need service to it first. Meaning everything is old and run down. Filter caps need replacing, tubes, sometimes some sockets etc. Then you have to mod it. Now I really do not like to put holes in old amps seems wrong. Now if you get a Marsha you have all new parts no service needed and it will sound like the older amp. If you do the mod on a slp or a jcm800 it will sound good but not as good. There is my 2cents.
