Hey folks,

I have an Orange Jim Root terror that I bought a couple of years ago. It's a fun little amp with that typical Orange tone. Great for dirty rock and for metal also, sure, but just don't expect a very tight and focused high gain tone. It's more fat and round. I love that tone myself even though I'm aware that it's not for everyone.

Last year I got a Rockerverb 50 MKIII and ever since people have been asking me to compare the two and I have to admit that I was very curious about this myself so I thought I'd make a little comparison. While I was at it I figured I'd also throw in my Fender Jim Root Telecaster. It's a great guitar!

I don't think these amps are very well suited for extreme metal tbh. I mean, it obviously works for Jim Root but for me I prefer to use these amps for (heavy)rock rather than plain metal. Still, I wanted to see how well these amps performed with some heavy riffage and without a boost. Because a boost pedal certainly would make them sound more tight and aggressive.

The 2 amps sound pretty similar but not exactly the same but I talk about that in the video... I'm curious what you guys think. Also, who else here has an Orange JR or RV? What styles do you play with it?
