Ordered a Balaguer Semi-Custom build...

Got my order placed last week. I know many have not yet heard about or played a Balaguer but Joe is doing some really cool stuff. I’ve thought about doing a semi-custom build through him for a while now after getting the SD guitar that he did through another forum I am on.

Here are the specs
• Mahogany Body “Archetype”
• Flamed Spalted Maple Drop Top
• Non-beveled Body
• 24 fret Ebony Board w/MOP inlay
• 5-piece Roasted Maple Neck w/Walnut stringers
• Reversed Modern Headstock
• Balaguer Feral Bridge Humbucker
• Balaguer Stacked Humbucker in the Neck
• Custom Green “Cthulhu” burst (matched on headstock)
• Scraped natural body binding
• Hipshot String-thru Bridge

Only things different on the guitar from the mock-up is the bridge and the single coil route will be the more triangular one. They don’t have those in the builder yet.

I am super excited for this. I think it’s about a 3 month lead time.

Those are really great specs. Guys seem to really dig these and that’s a decent wait time. What kind of neck profiles does he do? Can you get like a wide flat shredder profile or are the neck options limited? Your choices look like a great build

He’s got a few options and there is a thinner shredder profile. I like bigger necks so I went with his “comfy c” profile.

Each one of his production models comes with standard options. Semi-custom allows different wood choices, hardware, etc.

Not dissimilar to what carvin does.
