I tried to get that guy to send me some clips and specs on a couple of his pedals over the Marshall forum. He never replies with anything but excuses. I think he just tweaks and reboxes other manufacturers pedals and sells them. Everything he does seems shady. He supposedly had a great jcm800 in a box pedal, but when several guys asked about it there was nothing but pictures and hot air.

I don't trust any manufacturer who only has a Facebook page, and no proper website. You want to go into business then invest a little in your image and publicity.

I haven't had any problems, Mike and i have traded emails, he answered all my questions promptly.

He makes these by hand.

He has received my payment and is going to ship my pedal.

This. No website, to me, means you just don't give a shit.

And why does this pedal remind me of the Majik Box Rocket Fuel???

IDK but its not $350 bucks.

Rocket Fuel is way overpriced.

Rocket Fuel is now @ Sam Ash but before Majic Box wanted $$$ up front with a 3 month wait.

Thats a no go for me.

This pedal has a mid-shift, a bass boost, and can run at 9 or 18 volts.

Tell me how you like yours ... ;)

I don't use mine much anymore but it's a very cool TS based pedal with less of a mid hump than say a Maxon OD808. I've got the standard Tube Boost not the boost version . Never had any problems dealing with Mike

About 4 years ago I sent Mike all of my pedals, a Voodoo Pedal plus and my 5150iii foot switch to build me a pedal board. Not only did he do a great job but he also rushed the finish date for me after my playing situation here changed and I ended up needing it back sooner than planned.
I've only contacted him a few times since to let him know that I'm still using the board and it is still working perfectly, especially the cables he made for the board. I also still have and use a modded Boss OD-1 that just slays into my '79 2203 or any 800 I've tried it through.

I don't think he builds and sells in mass quantities because I know he has a regular day gig but he always responded to my emails and calls promptly and never once did I worry when he had all of my stuff.
To my knowledge he's never screwed anybody over and he's a good dude to deal with in my book.

Thats where im at too.

I emailed him lastnite again before bed asking if the Boost/OD is asymetrical and when i woke up he had replied yes it was.

Mike Currie

He's in Canada, paypal does the conversion automatic.

Cool thanks. Was thinking about selling one of my pedals to start my boost journey. Might give this one a try.

No problem Homie.

I'll prolly do a small demo with my Marshall rig.

Very resonable price for a hand made pedal.

$128 vs $350 its not hard to see whats going on here with Majic Box pedals.

Thats like a 225%+ markup.

Living near mike and having tested pedals in his home with him, I can tell you he is not shady, I know he has a full time day job and a family so Like everyone he just gets behind or busy. When he first started out working on pedals, he without knowing me at all he just sent me home with a couple of his modified Ds-1's just to try and see what I thought, which impressed the hell out of me especially since they sounded great and he was very open to new ideas.

just shoot him an email with your concerns he'll always get back to you sooner or later.

he also builds a hell of a Klone...

Your welcome.

I posted those clips the other day and sang it's praises because it kicks ass. It is clear, articulate, and smokes the standard SD-1 variant. It is also canadian made and I do like to support me my fellow Canucks! With this pedal you have three tones. Classic distortion from the amp and then the OD side on for 80's to 90's gain hair metal and thrash and then went you want more for leads, the Boost side sits perfect on top. For classic boosts that you might want fo an AC DC solo, the boost alone on top of your amps gain will do the trick. Great pedal.

The only thing still in the mix for me is my koko boost. When i play with the MV on 6, I need less gain and that is where i just use the mid side of the koko for leads. I can take these two pedals anywhere and on any amp get what i would need. Hope that is endorsement enough.

Oh, and contact wise, never had any problems with him responding to my emails either. He delivered very quickly after I made a payment too. I always say this is a better Rocket Fuel oedal. Less fizz and way less markup. What is with those guys anyways? Jake E Lee and Gilbert put a name on a pedal and you mark it up 200$?? screw that.

Mike's got the pedal all wired up, ships tommorow.

Will try to do some clips ...
