I dont get it. THe phone views video, but can't take video and I have yet to receive a video that will play.....

Do you have enough memory?

crackberry.com is a good resource

at&t....

....I dont know about the memory...I guess I can clear some tunes off of it and see if that helps, but I dont have it loaded with any apps or much other media stuff....

I have read (note: read) that the issue you're describing may very well have something to do with memory. Even if you don't have a bunch of applications, some may always be trying to go get data or whatnot (e.g maps, navigator, etc...) so you might want to check those. I am no expert, just regurgitating what I've read.

I don't even have one...I'm getting it tomorrow, but have been reading up on the damn things since I detest having something new and not having any clue how to use it!!!

There seem to be thriving BB communities (like rig talk) who all talk about these things like they were, you know, guitars and amps...

yeah, I've been pretty unsatisfied with what this thing doesnt do.

Clear out your cache. If that doesn't help call At&t. There are settings within their system that will prevent you from receiving MMS correctly. It inadvertently gets disabled. Its happened to me before. Couldn't even receive a picture.

yeah I've had some pictures not come through...and they were sent from a freakin blackberry....

WTF?? :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

under Options --> Security --> Firewal. if the firewall is turned on, then make sure its not blocking anything like SMS, Pin, and other things there. make sure none of the boxes in that section are checked.

Also try to reboot/reset your blackberry. Press and hold in this order. ALT + aA (Shift on right hand side of keyboard) and DEL. That'll reboot your blackberry. Wont delete your data.

You can also try clearing the Log files. Press and Hold ALT and press letters L G L G. It'll open up the log. Click the ball or wheel and click on clear log.

Which model do you have?

to be honest I'm not sure what model....

its not the touch screen, and I dont believe its the curve...the curve is the more narrow one right?

the firewall is off....i've tried that setting. I'll try the reboot and such....

Options --> About

at the top it'll say "Blackberry (R) xxxx"

xxxx being the model number.

its the 8310 model....

I did the log delete as suggested above, I also did the reboot mentioned in the same post...

had the wife send me the same vid....and.....

....still doesnt show up. I checked the memory. I have 471.8 MB free on my memory card....the video is only 471kb.

the exact error message I get is,

"One or more of hte message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components wer unsuitable for your terminal."

Is she sending it to your att.blackberry.net e-mail address or directly do you Blackberry's PIN?

she is sending it to my phone as an attachment in a MMS message.

Same way she sends pics...

This may not apply with blackberries because I've only owned them on verizon but I have at&t now and an iphone and you can't send or receive picture/video messages with the service. (That's being changed in an upcoming update) I'm not sure about the blackberries though on that network.

It might be an isuue in the service book section of it....I had some issues with mine and called the verizon help line and went thru a ton of stuff..eventually it was fixed. You might call your phone help line and see what they can do.....

Try to have her send it to you using PIN e-mail message or to your @att.blackberry.net address. see if that works.
