needing to do some stuff with excel, and it wants a key code, but won't accept the MS one from the back of my computer?

That one wont work, thats for Windows not Office. You'll need the Office key.

it says it will let me use it 17 times.

got the computer at BestBuy, and kindda looking like they may have kept that stuff? all i can find is thier webroot and trend stuff? but i'm not much for being organized either, so they could be burried in a pile of papers and amp parts, on or around my desk.

Newer computers are coming with Office pre-installed, but it's a trial version. Expires after so many uses/days.

Remove it, and install Open Office (free), or, buy MS Office ($400 or more, unless you have a valid school ID)
