Anybody have experience with these things?

I just got my Splawn Nitro in and I really love the tone I'm getting out it, but I hate damaging it putting the few pedals I need in the fx loop.

Thanks

why is the fx loop crappy or something?

Nah it's not crappy but it does effect the tone, as does any fx loop.

I'm just spoiled having had my fx loop footswitch bypassable and it cut down on tap dancing during tunes.

I did post this question on another forum and someone told me that the loopbone does color the tone so I skipped it.

I have one on the way. Should have it by the end of the week. I'll report back. If I get it soon enough, I'll try to do some clippage with it on, off and with everything out of the chain entirely. In theory its a great pedal with lots of different options. the clean boost and variable gain boost is a nice added touch, along with it functioning as a channel switcher(which I'll be using it for).

Actually it's not necissarily the loop that sucks tone...it's the pedal that's in the loop that's not a true-bypass pedal. Seems to me that with the loopbone in the loop, there'd still be some coloration since it's an active device and such. But I am interested to see if it's worth the hype!

Actually the Nitro has a button on the back that allows you to "engage" and "disengage" the loop. With nothing in the loop at all and engaged it does change the sound of the amp slightly. I was suprised at how little the CE-5, DD-6 and Microvibe changed the sound.

I'd appreciate it! I picked up a Radial EFX but the damn thing makes a HUGE poping sound whenever you bringing a loop in or out of the signal path

Well, I'm surprised! :dunno: Out of curiosity, if the loop, being activated, changes your tone all by itself, how would putting anything else in the loop not change the tone? I'm not trying to make anyone look like an idiot. I'm just rying to get a bit of a better idea about what you're trying to accomplish.

And i, too, am interested in hearing about the outcome of the loopbone.
