OT: New guitar Hero South Park Episode.

Anyone catch the new south park last night. I thought it was pretty good. I loved the heroin hero. When Stan's dad broke out the fake LP and the Vaux amp and started playing, that was cool. Especially since I suck at Guitar hero.

My friend at work though didn't like the episode, but he doesn't play guitar.....
 
Dammit, I missed it. Oh well I'm sure they will replay it.
 
That is definitely one of my favorite episodes ever. Chase the Dragon!, Chase the Dragon!
 
I'm the DAD.
My kids are always trying to get me to play that game and its easier for me to work it out on the real guitar. I almost fell over laughing. 57 and can't play guitar hero worth a damn.

Well take comfort in the fact you are not the only one that is not good at that game. I have only played it about 10 minutes, but frankly I would rather play my 'real' guitar....
 
that game just further goes to prove i have no rhythmic abilities, but maybe its more hand eye cordination. I dunno.
 
the trick is to use a pick on the little button that is supposed to represent the string :thumbsup:

I can look like I know what I'm doing on the easy mode songs, but that 5th button really throws me off.
 
the game is alot harder if you're guitarist, cuz of reflex's of what you're used to etc.

It's more like trying to translate the songs you already really know how to play, to a keyboard with only 5 keys. It's simpler than playing guitar by a long shot but it's just so different, it takes getting used to. That being said I won't play the game because it has no appeal to me at all; it's too much like karaoke.

I loved that episode though. :)

Stan's Dad: "You see, I can play a lot of the songs that are in your game, using an actual guitar!"

Cartman: "That's GAY."

And of course the end of the episode. :D
 
This just answered my question from my 12 year old...........he is not getting this crap.

I think its so ridiculous. I have some friends from college on my msn that were pretty foolish, and have them blocked :lol: :LOL: but can see their msn titles or whatever. One of them is: "Guitar Hero III Wiiiii has arrived..... work productivity low" LOL Such a dumbass. South Park got it right: Fags :lol: :LOL: I mean he's not a bad guy or anything, but just picturing a 25 yr old being all into guitar hero instead of just learning to play real guitar seems so dumb to me. Karaoke is FAR cooler than guitar hero IMO, and its not that cool ;)

I know a guy at work who will fight over his guitar hero skills. I mean actually want to step outside if you give him shit about it. When I try to explain that it's a video game, he's just not interested in hearing that.
