The Pens are playing tighter but they still need to step it up a notch. By the way Montreal's goalie played unreal tonight!!

Oh Hell Yes! GO HAWKS!

I have to admit though, Nashville's passing game looked a lot better than ours for the series.
And Rinne is a monster. Shades of Patrick Roy in tonights game.

It was an exhausting series to watch and I'm glad it's over. Nashville really matched up well with the Hawks and it felt like the Hawks were always just clinging on. Sloppy passing and the inability to clear the puck are what really hurt the Hawks. Also, they let Nashville skate too freely behind Niemi which allowed the Preds to much more easily dump passes back to center or swing it around the boards and reset the offense.

Without a doubt. If the Hawks are gonna have a chance against Vancouver they need to get their passing together and control the puck a lot better (stick handling was pretty rough for this series!)

Well, half of my east predictions are right so far, but I've been 100% wrong on the number of games it took!

I'm not looking forward to round 2 for the Bruins... the Pens skill level is definitely a notch higher than we're used to, and while the Flyers dont' seem that dangerous, they are an extremely tenacious team.

The Habs upsetting the Caps would be ... pretty unreal, to say the least. I'm quite suprised that series isn't decided yet.

Go B's!!

Well the Sens are done so cheering on the Habs tonight in game 7! I'd love to see the habs and bruins play in the conference final, that would be pretty intense. Rooting mainly for the Canucks now though, if Bobby Lou wins both a gold medal and a cup in the same year in the same city that would be pretty mind blowing

PS I hope someone crosschecks both Talbot and Cooke in the face in the next round. Can't f'n stand either of those guys  Pittsburgh probably will make it to the finals again though, Malkin finally decided to wake up and they get enough calls going their way...if they joined the summer olympics they'd probably win a couple of diving medals

Wow. Go Montreal. Alex Ovechkin chokes in the playoffs yet again. Hysterical. Guy has 1 playoff series win and there are idiots out there who think he's even comparable to Crosby. Just amazing. I love watching him fail constantly while Sid racks up Stanley Cup finals appearances, wins, Olympic Gold Medals, and awards.

I wouldn't celebrate too much. The Pens actually know how to win playoff games, unlike the Caps. :D

Man, I was 2-6 picking those first round series. Pretty awful. Can't believe the Pens were only higher seeded Eastern team to advance.

DET vs SJ - Hard series to pick. San Jose is almost expected to just choke by now but I still don't think Detroit is dominant. I'll just go with the Sharks.
VAN vs CHI - Chicago has more firepower, but I'll go with Vancouver.
PHI vs BOS - I have no idea how either of these teams made it. I just can't see Brian Boucher playing great for much longer though.
MON vs PIT - Halak was great against the Caps, but I think Montreal will be on too much of a high. The Pens should take care of them in 5 or 6 games.

Pens chase Halak with 5 goals on 20 shots. The Caps had 1 powerplay goal in 7 games...Pens had 4 tonight.

Was at the game... freaking awesome

That said I expect the Habs to play better on Sunday, though if Markov is out long-term it's going to seriously hurt their game.

I'll say the Pens in 6 unless the Habs implode, in which case Pens in 4 :D

Wonder who they're going to start in goal on Sunday? And yeah, Markov is their version of Gonchar. I hope Staal won't miss any games either.

if it's Price we loses. I can't believe this guy is still there   during the regular season I couldn't watch the games he's there 'cause he allows pathetic goals because he's hungover

Yeah Staal being out for an extended period of time would seriously hurt the Pens given he's usually matched up against top lines and is one of the Pens best penalty killers... hoping he won't be out long.

Halak looked terrible last night. He was playing almost every angle wrong, giving up huge rebounds, had no idea where the puck was half the time, and just looked tired. I don't think they have a chance with either goalie though.
