He was on the History channel so I know about him, what he did sounds so small but in the face of what Germany was induring during that time a candy bar was was so huge to children. Children would wait all day and watch 100s of planes to see the one with it's wing tips fluddering, it gave them something to look forward to and I bet that was the best tasting candy they ever had once they got it.

What an ugly time for all regardless of where you are from

Well, so Berlin is still "special" - Obama will be here tomorrow and held a speech in Tiergarten (between Brandenburger Tor and the Siegessäule (not the best place historically though).

Its his only speech in europe btw - and he comes here before he visits GB or France, pretty interesting too. As you might imagine most krauts would prefer that you guys lift him into office. Of course I'm one of them :D

Reminds of this - really funny stuff:

Black Hussein Obama Bin Ladin. Yeah, that's just who we need for a president here. One term senator. Never been a governor, mayor, or even a high school principal for that matter. No doubt that's what all the europeans and radical muslims want as our president. An inexperienced, pussy. My vote will go elsewhere.

You guys have such a rational way to talk about politics :D

the delivery may be blunt, but its right on the mark!
Obama has 147 days of government experience, TOTAL!
I dont think that any rational thinking person would want someone with that
little time under his belt actually running a super power. thats like giving a loaded gun to a toddler. just not safe.

He would have Hillary, Gore and Edwards to stand by him, no?

Anybody followed the Berlin speech? I did. 200.000 Berliner sounds a bit like Obamania, true dat, and many top national politicians wouldn't get 10% of that audience.

Seems you guys have a diamond (internationally seen). Smart, rhetorically very good, charismatic, excellent metaphors. He could tell the people even unpopular things. I remember my uncle (who was a politician himself) being as enthusiastic about JFK as many people here are about him.

Well, just my point of view.
