OT: Your first round NHL playoff picks

I forgot they even made the playoffs last year. I see he was 3-4 with an average save percentage and GAA. I'd expect him to do better this year, but Montreal was a dominant team earlier in the year and also last year. If they can get some consistent goaltending from Carey Price then they have a good chance IMO.

I also think Ovechkin is the best to ever play this great sport but Jose Theodore is an average goalie at best and will be their downfall. This year's Cup Winner will be a large man-eating predator fish.

Wow. Honestly? All the guy does is fire slap shots at the net everytime he touches the puck. He doesn't hustle on defense at all, doesn't backcheck for shit, rarely ever makes any great passes, and he's just a big goon. He only leads the league in goals every year because he takes an insane amount of shots. He took 528 shots this year, that's 156 more than the guy who had the second most shots. He took 13 shots last night alone, that's fucking ridiculous. Any of the top 20-30 goals scorers in the NHL would get 56 goals if they took 500+ shots. I can name a ton of players I'd rather have over him. Dude is massively overrated.

EDIT: Here's just one hilarious example. Rick Nash scored 40 goals this year on 263 shots...that's 265 shots LESS than Ovechkin took! He would have been on pace for 80 goals if he took as many shots as overrated Ovechkin. Pathetic.

Perspective. Gretzky scored 92 goals in one season back in the day. Ovechkin is obviously a gifted guy, but he hasn't even scratched the surface of "all-time/ever" type consideration yet in any category. To be fair, neither has Crosby or Malkin yet.

Exactly. And Gretzky only took 369 shots in that year he scored 92 goals, that was the most shots he ever took in one season. Insane that he scored that many goals and he was such a playmaker, something Ovechkin will never be.
