Buyer has every right to be pissed off. I'm sorry but that isn't a new amp. New is sealed in box from every single place I have ever ordered a new amp from. Weather they have to open and test then reseal. If there is even the SLIGHTEST ding it is now B- Stock from literally 90% of sellers.
With all due respect sir, by your logic you're saying any amp thats in a brick and mortar retail store is used? Any guitar hanging on a wall on display is used? Any time you buy a car in a dealer showroom thats not factory sealed, its used? We will just have to agree to disagree here man. The amp arrived to him in brand new condition, with full manufacture warranty, never played other than to test (as I explained, as mandated by ENGL). We also discounted it heavily for him, and he messaged us saying he loved the amp, he was just angry it arrived in different cardboard box. The amp itself was pristine which he admitted.
Look, if people only want things that are "factory sealed", that is their right. People can order from Musician's Friend or Guitar Center and never do business with any brick & mortar retail store who cares enough to inspect the products they ship to customers. However, all I can say is we have a ton of customers who appreciate that we do things this way. We can agree disagree.
And I was chill. You may notice this thread is 2-3 years old. Someone necro-bumped it today![]()
Let's understand YOUR logic. You could have listed it honestly, as a demo, or B-stock, but you didn't. Yes, you ran a coupon code for 15% off for a BRAND NEW item, which it clearly was not. I don't care what you say.
In the real world, even MF would list an item with a damaged box as B-stock. If this is now your claim with the original box, (but, as I stated, your story changed multiple times), even a brand new item in non-original package, and the original contents that ships with a brand new item are missing, it's no longer brand new. That's the approach respectable sellers take. You, don't take that approach. You take the shady one.
I've bought B-stock, I've bought demos. Had both good and bad experiences, but at least the sellers made things clear.
Let's understand your other shady move. The very used amp you shipped me that I used for 2 weeks, and returned, you then re-listed as "brand new", and at full price of $1849, once you got it back. (15% higher than I paid for it). And, even though you pulled a fast one, I ate the shipping for the return. But, alas, Reverb allowed this B.S., I guess after you bent me over, they broke it off.
All I wanted was to pay fair market value for a used Fireball 100, since that's what it was. There were others in mint condition for $1100-$1200, but I wanted brand new, factory-sealed.
This is the last time I'm responding to you. Again, we shipped you a brand new amp. It was not a b-stock, or a demo. It was brand new, we just had to use an alternate cardboard box. If your take is that because its our policy to inspect the products we ship out prior to shipping, and therefore THAT makes it used... then you're psychotic. Let me remind you Sweetwater boasts about their "55 point inspection" which means they open up and inspect everything before it ships. By your logic, that means everything Sweetwater sells is used. So enough dude, you weren't wronged, you weren't misled. You're just a miserable person who thrives on random hostility and conflict.
And BTW, We get in 15-20 Fireballs a year, and often have multiples at any given time. You have no freaking clue what we sold your returned (brand new) amp for. Anyways we're done here. I refunded you years ago for this, move on.
