Output Transformer for 5150 combo

Would a bigger ot allow you to keep your tone at louder volumes without the mud?..very happy with my tone just curious if anyone has done this?..thanks

Peavey uses good iron. I'd leave it.

Highly suggest you contact Jerry at FJA. He knows 5150s like few do. He modded my 5150II and it now sounds incredible

Peavey uses a very undersized output transformer on their 60 watt amps. An upgrade helps a lot.

Also, can I change it to a larger one to improve the low end output without getting muddy tone?
