Overdrive or EQ pedal for FAT single notes?

An EQ in the loop could get the tone you're after but won't feel the same as hitting the front end with a boost or compressor. The right compressor can do wonders for this. I like the MXR custom comp.

The blue channel of the BB+ is another boost option as it has a 3-band EQ so you don't have to deal with the typical low end loss or grainy top end that can result from some boosts or overdrive pedals.

I concur that the blue side of the BB+ sounds amazing and the tweakable eq and compression settings are very handy. I wish Xotic made a pedal that was just that boost circuit with the same array of controls (or maybe they do....anyone know for certain?).

Jetter has a pedal called the Helium. A solid seller and great for a leave on all the time pedal to fatten things up. It was so popular they made a couple two stage pedals and it is the second stage in both units.

I bought a Fromell parametric EQ to go in the loop as a way to significantly change the center of focus for my tone on the advise of a long time knowledgable user here. Two dials on the box. One sets the tone center you want to change. The other can add or subtract from that focal point. You can pick mids and either scoop or bump. Extremely effective pedal. I have also used it in a wet dry rig to change to tone center of my wet amp for a mid bump.

Lightly modulated slapback delay? Won't add more gain, but seems to just thicken everything up.
