I've got a Marshall head that I want to start planning on pairing with a 2x12 cab. I'm leaning on going for an oversized cab this time. What would you guys recommend these days? I'm ok with a V30 but definitely dont want a cab with two of them in it. My current KSR cab is one V30 and Creamback 75 so it would be nice to have some variety in speakers.

G-Flex 212. Last I knew could be had cheap and mine has sounded great with every amp thrown at it. Was killer with V30-K100 mix.

On a side note, my G-Flex with Eminence EM12 speakers (pretty flat speaker eq) was best tone I had with my Kemper powerhead

I liked my Avatar contemporary 212 so much that I bought a second one, and my other guitar player also bought one. They are pretty big for 212s, but they sound great. Been gigging with mine for a couple of years, now, and its been solid. Can get them on sale a lot of times for $350 shipped. Crazy.

I just got an Avatar Vintage 2x12. It's built like a tank. Worth every penny. However, it needs broken in, big time. Pretty raspy, out of the box!

It would be perfect for your Marshall, for sure. Can't beat the price.

Another vote for Avatar although I came in here to recommend the Splawn 212. But now I remember the new Marshall amp you just got so if you are paring with that I'd also highly consider the Avatar Traditional 212. That's the one I had. Black with gold piping. It went will with my Quick Rod back in the day before her transformation. Dave's Hellatone speakers are the way to go. Rebranded Celestions variants for a lot cheaper.

Killer! Thanks for the recommendations. I will look into the Hellatones or maybe one of the other speakers. I just want some variety. Avatar sounds like a steal.

Another vote for the G-Flex. I loaded it with K85's but even stock it was great. With the K85's it's a beast. Better than the Mills I used to have.

I had a G flex years ago that I really liked, sold it because I couldn't pair it with my 8 ohm 4x12. I have an avatar contemporary 2x12 w/v30's now, super happy with it. But as said, it is a beefy bastard for a 2x12. Weighs more than a Mesa and is very awkward to carry/maneuver with. The G flex has handles on the corners that make it much more manageable.

I'll throw another one out there: Bogner OS 2x12. I've had quite a few over the years and it's my number one OS 2x12.

The old G-Flex. Truly a great 2x12 that you can not only hear but feel the difference. They sounded good even with the stock speakers. Another piece of gear I regret selling especially now as I lean towards downsizing. I've got a Bogner 2x12 OS, fine high quality cab but IMO the G-Flex sounded better. Especially upgrading the speakers.

Mojo? They have a free shipping deal this week or so. On any cab, loaded or unloaded.

I own avatar and Mojo I love both.

Mojotone isnt far from me not as close a Splawn but I think only 2 hours away.
