ownhammer recommendation

Overall I've been pretty disappointed with the tone with IRs coming from Two Notes. It's taken a lot of experimenting with mics/cabs/positions to get a good tone. Love the unit and its software though. I have both the WoS plugin and a Live, and they are both great from a functionality/UI point of view. Just wish the tone of their IRs was better or easier to dial in.

The whole point of this thread shouldn't be to shit on each other for our opinions on IRs anyway. The tone we hear in our ear is always going to be the deciding factor.. As for IRs, I did purchase a few ow hammers myself and of all of those, I rather liked the bite of the blackback cab. There were also a lot of great and less produced or polished sounding IRs like the redwirez cabs or even many of the free IRs that you can find on the net. I just ultimately feel that with my setup, real mics were the winner.

here is one of mine with the Two Notes Cabs :)

Sounds great! Which Two Notes cabs did you use? Is this with Two Notes power amp simulation as well?

Great clips! I still liked the two not cabs better. What are you using for the mic settings for the uber cab? I have been using that one allot with my EVh on the red ch.

To help the original poster.

My experience has also been ownhammer IRs sound way better than stock Two Notes.
There are still very good tones to be had with Two Notes IRs of course.

Ownhammer IRs are cheap anyway so just give them a go.

I've done a lot of A/Bing against my actual cab.

Can't be bothered uploading clips as I don't have to prove to you ferrets what I already know

NOOOOO, no power amp sim. Using the Vint C and the Brownyback. Its all in the EQ :)

The next time I fire up my Torpedo Live I will check those out for sure. Thanks!

anyone know if you can blend torpedo irs for use with the live?

the Two Notes IR's are better. just go to the boutique inside of Torpedo Remote and try all the cabs, its free to test them. As far as the Ownhammer, you can't make any adjustments, you can't change the mics, your stuck with what they give you. its not as good.

Totally agree in that the Two-Notes IRs are great! Love the LeBoutique cabs! I picked up a few of them recently and they sounded amazing during sound checks over the weekend at at the gig!

I don't doubt the quality of the Ownhammer stuff as well.

The more the merrier!

I just purchased the Brownyback and NOSv30. :m9:

Are you referring to the Angl Vint C or Brit Vint C?

Damn you, Reza! I love my Redwirez IRs and liked (and used) many of the Two Notes cabs but there were a few Redwirez that I always gravitated towards. I came across Rosen Digitals IRs, which are supposed to be the "be all and end all" of IRs and bought a few over the last few days. After listening to them, I started scrolling through the Two Notes stuff and found them better...and better than the Redwirez stuff I had been using. Then I went to La Boutique and found 3 new Two Notes cabs that blew away-completely by far-anything I'd ever used before. THANK YOU. I think?

Have any of you been able to compare the Torpedo Live to the C.A.B?
I've been thinking of upgrading either with a Suhr Reactive Load before
the C.A.B or simply getting the Live box and replacing the C.A.B.
