OX Box with Small for Baritone Guitar

Generally speaking Baritone Guitars work best with large amps and cabinets. They like bigger transformers, tubes and speakers. Small amps struggle with the bottom end. In my situation I have liked the idea of buying a modeling amp and going direct into my PA. I am jam at home or with friends type player. I also want to generate feedback and use distortion pedals (child of Nirvana basically). I am also in a townhouse, so I can't play loud.

Instead of buying a big tube amp like a Twin Reverb, do you think the OX Box with a smaller amp would work using the impulse responses from the OX direct to my PA speaker. Would those cabs give the bottom end and head room needed for the Baritone if using a small amp like a Blues Jr or Deluxe? I am only thinking of small amps to save cost and have a small grab and go set up when jamming with friends in tunings other then baritone.

Thanks

With the Ox you get 2 cab mic options with separate EQ's as well as an overall EQ. So, there are plenty of options to get the the frequencies you're looking to accomplish.

The Ox is not using IRs and does not like too much low end either. The OX is more oriented to vintage sounds.
The attenuator pretty much kills the high end so direct amp tones can suffer on high attenuator settings.
Cabinet simulation and effects cannot be routed back to the amp, they can only be used with the line outs.
I would get a Kemper and some quality profiles.

I believe he is talking about the cab simulation. Going direct to FOH. So, the only limitation would be the capacity of the PA system itself? With the OX you are just providing the desired frequencies to board which then again will be EQ'd for the mix.
